I think it all depends on your piggies and your set up. The number of pigs, their ages, the type of bedding you have and whether you have hay racks/hay managers, etc. If you have any food bowl tippers, heavy drinkers and wetters, or any tunnelers, as I like to call them (if you use fleece bedding) also makes a difference. Tunnelers are the ones that love to pull up the fleece, get under it and make a bigger mess as a result. :-)
I generally spot clean one to two times per day - once in the morning and once at night, if needed. I use fleece and towels and usually switch all that out (deep cleaning) once every three to four days, dependent upon condition, smell, etc. When I switch out the bedding, I also wash down the whole cage.
