Sleeping boxes have fresh hay and newspaper every day . The central running about area is cleaned every third day. This applies whether the pigges are outdoors as in summer or indoors for the winter.

Brought them all indoors for the winter yesterday as the weather is so wild,so tonight is bathnight, which is a bit of a long job with 27 piggies!

Spotclean one as day if i can, then a full clean out once to twice a week depending on how messy they are being. Its usually every 5-7 days i full clean them out.

One of my piggies is on vetbed, so he gets hoovered out and paper chaned everyday, unless he's been out in the run all day.

All the other piggies outside I fully clean out every 2-3 days

I clean mine out everyday and do a cage scrub once a week, I use shavings ( a small amount) on newspaper but they have a snuggle bed.

I have gone back to fleece today and yet again one of the boys have tipped the tray up which has sawdust layer and a load of readigrass in mallethead

Apart from duck taping the thing down I'm not sure what else to try lol, I did use a Pyrex oblong china dish, which only had hay in it and they dived head 1st in to scoop it all out and then sat in the dish and eat the hay that was everywhere, this time I have hay in the rack and the tray under it with the shavings and grass in, needless to say I have taken the tray out, at least this time it stayed in the cage for 15 mins which beat the 5 mins the last one lasted lol

So we will see, I'll probably end up back to the paper and shavings etc

I was considering using one of those heavy ceramic trays for plant pots from garden centres, just a thought it could be heavy enough & they can't chew it either unlike plastic :)

My little one is mischief and has quite a personality so it may work for you but didn't last 5 mins for mine lol

Well, I spot clean in the morning and at dinner-time, and fully clean the cage every 2 weeks. That may be pushing it, but I take out a lot of bedding when I spot clean!

Really your pigs will tell you when to clean! There is no fixed rule ")

I wouldnt like to sleep in my own poop

Yep,I shake out the vet bed morning and evening and put in a new section of newspaper and fresh hay in every morning and evening as well as it only takes a few minutes once you are in a routine - it just becomes an automatic part of your day - I wash the vet bed every couple of days and do a disinfect on the weekend.

I clean the cage out every other day so i.e I cleaned it out yesterday I'll clean it out again on Monday. I use cage cleaner on these days. I do what I call a "deep clean" one a week where I scrub the cage out with boiling hot water and a squirt of washing up liquid and this takes places on either a Sunday or a Monday.

Sometimes I do think, "Hmmn maybe this doesn't need doing" but then when I get down to the newspaper its always wet so it does. It varies on what your pig's are like at the end of the day.

we have a ferplast cage and use newspaper, cat litter (under the paper) and then lots of shredded paper and hay for bedding.
I tip ours out into the bin every couple of days and replace the lot. Usually wash out the base of the cage with washing up liquid and hot water about once a week, plus some cage disinfectant. Our cage has a little house inside which came with it, our piggies like to sit on the roof and one of them (haven't ever managed to work out who) likes to wee on the roof! So I usually have to take that out every so often and wash it. Gross piggies!

Mine get fresh hay every day and the newspaper section is cleared daily. I literally don't have time for a full clean in the wheek, so at weekend they get a full clean out, disinfected etc.

If they were in a smaller cage it just wouldn't work but luckily they have plenty of space to spread their poop and wee out across!

I check them over every day and clean any particularly messy areas of the cage and then totally strip everything out probably every 5-7 days. I used puppy pads and then a thick layer of Medibed and then hay on top so I'd like to think they are quite comfy!

Wow! Compared to everyone else I think I'm going overboard with my cage haha!
I clean my 3x2 twice a day. I sweep the fleece, refill hay and pellets and empty the litter box after they eat their salad (around 8am and 7pm). In the morning I also change the puppy pads under their pigloos.
