I'm really missing these two! My house is so much quiet!
I had another bond to do yesterday (two older boars). I generally prefer boar/boar bonds to any others. It was a TEAS piggy and a clients piggy. I felt sure it would be a doddle! How wrong can you be! Within 5 mins the teeth chattering started and the chasing intensified. Within seconds they were launching at one another with mouths wide open! I tried to grab the TEAS piggy, who turned his attention from the other piggy to my hand. He shot into the air, sinking his teeth into my finger. I managed to get him into a pet carrier, before making a dash for the kitchen. As I ran from the log cabin into my kitchen, blood was pouring from my finger. There was blood all across my patio, my kitchen floor, splattered up the kitchen cupboards. I wrapped my finger and went back to the log cabin to check both piggies over, who were absolutely fine. My finger continued to bleed on and off all day and then last night, around 7 pm it started to swell. The pain was horrendous. My finger was red hot! Ibuprofen and ice packs helped a little and I've had a really bad nights sleep. This morning it's still very warm and swollen, but definitely an improvement on last night. Who ever knew guinea pig bonding was such a dangerous activity! I am supposed to be doing another bond today, but have had to postpone!
