Furniture moving blankets. What size is your cage again? X

It's : 118 x 58.5 x 51.5 cm (L x W x H)

Where do you get your blankets from! Sorry for all the questions. I know uhaul is very popular in the us

You get them on eBay. I've made 2x3 liners out of them and they are great! They are quite thick tho as I used 2 layers of the uhaul sandwiched between fleece. Each blanket is 200x150cm. You can get 5 for £20 or 10 for £27. If you were making beds etc for them you could also use this instead of wadding :), and pee pads etc, so many uses X

You are a star thank you. Is it the same as uhaul then? Would it work with just fleece on top and uhaul underneath?

Yeah it's exactly the same thing....recycled denim :). I've made a couple of 2x2 liners with just the fleece on top. Only thing is the uhaul moults, so if you were washing I would definitely put it into a washbag. If you do use fleece on both sides, I would personally put a different design at the bottom so you can change the look of your cage with less liners :). Also wash the uhaul a couple of times on a high heat...I also tumble dried on high heat as it shrinks a little....so you want to do this before you start making the liners. If you have anymore questions ask away :). Pic below is how thick the liners will be with x2 uhaul and fleece on both sides X

Would you say if definatly needs to be 2 layers of uhaul? Or would one topped with fleece be ok

I wasn't going to do double fleece but would the uhaul wear quickly without?

Not sure how quickly it would wear away, I just know when I put it in the tumble dryer a good bit of fluff is in the filter after. You probably would get longer out of the liner if u used 2 layers of fleece. You could use 1 layer and just change it more often? Because mine is only in my 2x3 part of the cage it's hard to tell how long it would last in a full cage. How many piggies are in your cage and do you use pee pads? X

If you have a b&m near you you can get x2 plain polar fleece throws for £3.99. The fleece isn't overly thick but works well as a bottom layer....it also wicks well too, so u could use it that side up if you really wanted X

My uhaul liners dry pretty quick on the line. You can also tumble dry them if needed :). I'm about to start sewing pee pads today lol, the ones I'm using have wadding on the inside and they ain't great :( although better than nothing lol. Just need to get motivated to get off my backside....having a lazy Sunday lol. What are you using at the minute in your cage? Do u have any pics of your boys? X

image.webp image.webp This was the first liner I made. Not perfect but functional. The 2nd one I made was the stars

This is Jasmine she is 5 and half now and won't tolerate living with anyone else :(

image.webp This is George and Harry. George is the lighter coloured one :)

I've only recently switched to fleece. I bought a few liners from and c and e cosies and the other couple I have I have made.

I used fleece and a mattress protector. Works okay :) the piddle pads I made using 100% cotton flannels and fleece.

@mshappy89
Omg I love your piggies! My oldest is 2 1/2. Do you find they change when they get older?
Your liners are great! How long do you get out of them before needing changed? Managed to get my pee pads all cut....only managed to sew 2 tho Lol. Kids in bed and hubby watching the match so hopefully get a few more done now :) X

Jasmine has slowed right down I find. Although she wheeks she isn't as loud!
I cherish everyday with her
I seem to be able to get 5-7 days. I use puppy pads underneath!

Flip that's really good! If your getting that long out of them I'm not sure I would bother changing to anything else!
Did she get more chilled/affectionate with age? X

She does once you have caught her! I find no matter the age piggies are always quite skittish!

The boys however, are not as skittish.

I have 2 really friendly piggies out of 9 lol. They are both boys. They will happily come up to the side of the cage to get a stroke when I walk into the room. Wookie once you start stroking him will plonk himself down and not move till you stop lol. He doesn't really like being lifted tho. One of my girls Annie sometimes likes to be stroked and sometimes doesn't...typical woman can't make up her mind. Sam, the other boy who likes being stroked will also stay still and let you lift him out without running. My other 2 boys Bing and flop don't like being lifted but once out will happily sit on your knee for cuddles. My other 4 girls don't particularly like being out at all. Fifi tries to get off your knee....as does pippin and meimei, and daisy just sits there as still as anything looking terrified :(....her eyes so wide you can see white lol. When I first got pippin, daisy, and fifi all three of them were in a 100cm cage, they had been passed from pillar to post, had no hay, and when I tired to clean the cage the woodshavings were so soiled I couldn't get the dustpan through them....ended up just binning the cage it was that bad :(. They are definitely coming out of their shell, but it's a slow process. At the start they wouldn't come anywhere near me, now they will happily come out of the cage and come over to take veg out of my hand, so they are getting there :).
I might try some cotton flannel pee pads and see what they are like. Do you only use 1 layer? X
