Hannah’s Herd thread!

So much lovely news.
It’s getting very exciting waiting for the baby to arrive.
It’s lovely your mum will be there with you.
Shame that Luna wouldn’t bond, but there’s some pig out there for her.
Hope Newton’s mouth heals quickly

I’m so thrilled that you will have your Mum with you for the birth and the first few weeks, Hannah. My mum came to stay with us when the twins were born and I don’t know how we would have coped without her! She helped us get into a routine of sorts and how to recognise the difference between one sort of cry and another (mine included!).
So sorry that Luna hasn’t fitted into your herd and that she fell out with Newton so badly.why can’t piggies just play nicely? Hope that his mouth heals soon.
So looking forward to seeing photos of your new arrival - not long now x

Hello all.
Baby Oscar has of course been demanding all my attention for the past 2 weeks, Thank goodness for my mum being here to be able to help out. She’s been walking Fergus everyday, and today when she was cuddling Oscar it gave me 1.5hrs to get the pigs cleaned out. Jon’s been great at feeding the horses. And I of course try and get out to see them as much as I can too. I am missing all my animals, I feel guilty for Fergus though he does love my mum and is clinging to her like glue.

The piggies are all well and good. Newton is still Mr one bottom tooth, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting him. Lion still has his dodgey teeth too. Buttons seems to have a bit of hair thinning on her shoulders, I'm going to mite treat them all as I feel like everyone’s been scratching since Wren arrived. Though I can’t see any evidence of mites.
Wren and Henry are still getting along well.
And I worked out that Emily is around 5-6 years old now, she’s such a darling piggie.

How cute is Wren!..

Ah gorgeous photos

Oscar is beautiful and I love how Fergus is looking after him ❤️
You look very well Hannah 🥰

We had a full car load to the vets on Tuesday, Jon, me, Baby, The dog and two guineas in separate carriers 😂

Lion needed he’s usual front teethies trimmed, And Newton had a checkup for his missing tooth, Aaron the vet thinks it’s all looking healthy and okay in his mouth.
Fergus had some lumps checked out, we knew they were just cysts. Aaron confirmed that. So all good!
I almost also took Wren to the vet as she was acting strange a few days before. But I think it was her itchy skin causing her discomfort. I have now mite treated her and everyone else and also gave Wren a few days of anti-inflammatory and she seems to be feeling good again.
My mum left on Sunday which was really sad, Loved having her here and feel so guilty she won’t see Oscar again for such a long time. Wish she lived here, not England. But we had a fabulous 4 weeks!
The weather is atrocious, it’s currently pouring down. Feel bad for my horses, the paddocks look muddy and miserable.
The chickens hate it too, they are just sitting on the verandah trying to keep dry..pooping all over it of course lol.
Oscar is sometimes really good through the night, just waking for 3 feeds. But some nights he just won’t settle and it’s incredibly frustrating. I was so tired yesterday. Luckily last night he slept well. Can’t believe how quickly he is growing and developing. 4 weeks old today.

Wren has settled in very well. She’s the loudest wheeker out of them all. And she’s not itching so much anymore after her mite treatment.

Such a shame Newton has dodgy teeth now, as well as Lion. But he’s happy and eating well..

Hello!
Lion and Newton had their teethies appointment on Friday, lion had his trimmed and Newton didn’t require any treatment so two happy piggies!
Oscar is 7 weeks old now. When he cries it sometimes sets one of the guinea pigs off wheeking..I’m not sure why 🤣
I had a short ride on Lucy yesterday, the first time on a horse since last year. It felt great! And Lucy was such a good girl letting me on after such a long time!
I ermm accidentally got a new chicken today..I’ll make out it’s Oscar’s first pet!..I felt sorry for her at a market, so couldn’t go home without her.
I think that’s all my news, everyone and everything is doing okay. We’re all hanging in there, adjusting to new life. Some days I struggle but most the time I’m happy.

🥰🥰 Love your photos and posts Hannah, lovely to hear about all your gorgeous animals & see how much baby Oscar has grown in 7 weeks!☺️ Our youngest is almost 7 now but it doesn’t seem 5 mins since he was a baby, time really does fly - our other 3 children are 26, 22 & 19!
Your life in Australia looks lovely and your animals are obviously very lucky to have found you❤️❤️xx

Really lovely to hear your news ❤️
Can’t believe Oscar is 7 wks old and well done on your first pet Oscar ( I’m sure more to come along🥰)

Hello!
We are all doing well here, adjusting well to new life, Oscar is 12 weeks old today and being a very good boy. I’m getting a nice amount of sleep at night- for now anyway lol.
Not much to report, just a few photos to share. Though today I have noticed Buttons is losing hair on her throat area. She was losing it on her back a few months ago but I thought it was lice and seemed to grow back after treating her. However I’ve given her throat a little prod tonight and I think I can feel a lump of sorts 😞 I’ll book in to get her checked out. She’s happy and fine in herself at least.
Lucy injured herself a few weeks ago, the vet recons she has slipped a tendon on her hock. She’s recovering well and isn’t too lame anymore. But is to rest in her stable/yard area for two months which is rubbish for her.
Weather has been lovely, spring time is wonderful!
