I have two female guinea pigs, Molly and Lucy ( both 5 ) and recently noticed a few months ago that Mollys hair was getting shorter around the back of her back legs, almost fluff rather then fur(She’s always had course wiery hair) I just kept an eye on it and didn’t think this was a big issue. Last week they went to boarding where they are kept outside with sawdust in a hutch which I know isn’t ideal (usually they are inside on fleece) but it’s only for a week a few times a year ( they go regularly and don’t seem to mind it too much) after coming home I noticed the hair on her back seemed thinner than normal and her skin looked like it was flaking slightly. This morning it looked as though maybe she had been itching or biting it since her fur was kind of pulled and slightly wet if that makes sense. Wondering if this is just something normal maybe due to age or temperature change or a sign that something might be underlying? Thanks
