Furbabies' Adventures

So very sorry that you had to give beautiful Billie that last gift of love.
She had a long and wonderful life with you and she will leave a huge hole in your heart.
She was a forum star 🌟 and we will all miss her.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve

The piggy group is doing fine without Billie. They were a bit subsued right after saying their goodbye. It really look as if they paid their respect to Billie when we got home from the vet. It was quite touching. Just like our grand old lady deserved.

But then came dinner time and a piggy must eat. :D

I switched the bedding back to our usual wood shavings. That's more dust but a lot less work which is a great relieve.
The piggies are enjoying their new setup.

Yesterday, Odi had his CT at the university clinic. I'll get the results next week.
His appointment was at 9 in the morning and it took him untill early evening to be fully awake again.
I knew that it would take a while because it was the same with Chelsea a few years ago. But it's still hard to watch.
Luckily, he is his usual self today.
I'm just dreading the decision ahead of me.
If I don't follow the advice of the specialist vet, I'll never know if the tooth extraction would have given him a better quality of life for a longer time.
And if I go through with the extraction and it doesn't work out, I'll never be able to forgive myself because it made everything worse than it is at the moment.
But the situation is worsening ... so he could have quite a short time left without the extraction.
It's heartbraking because he is such a happy boy full of energy and otherwise healthy.
Can I please ask what vet you used? I’m currently going through a similar thing with one of my girls and am feeling overwhelmed with where to even start.

Are you in Austria ?
@Viennese Furbabies lives in Vienna which may not be helpful for you.
If you are in the UK then check the recommended vet list, or ask if there’s anyone in your area.
In Canada and the US I believe Guinea Lynx is the best place to find a vet.

Odi is able to eat by himself again, not cucumber, but most of the other veggies.
After weeks of Baytril and the prognosis that the situation is only going to get worse, it's a pleasant and most welcome surprise that he is able to eat better. I was also able to reduce the pain medication.
We're still at the vet every 3 weeks but that's not so bad.

Of course I don't know how long it will last, but at the moment I'm very happy.

I think I remember some toys like that. Do they make a noise? I may just be having a brain fart....My hubby doesn't seem to recognise them but some of my early toys were things the other children had never seen as they came back from Germany with us.
They were felt pens. The head was the cover.

I was a bit worried how the group would adjust to being without Billie because she was top sow and Kylie is a pretty fierce little creature. But after the first few days of quiet and a few days with a bit of chasing, they are back to their usual selves. Kylie still loves a bit of bum biting and chasing Vicky and Tessy, but it didn't get any worse. It might even be getting a little bit better, but this impression could just be my wishful thinking.
