Oh I'm sorry, I misread your earlier posts and got the names mixed up.Thank you. Finn in the photo is the almost 8 years old boy. Bear was only about 3 years old. Finn and Bear were best buddies.
Bear, after coming to live with us from Petco, had to be taken to the hospital almost immediately from having breathing difficulty. Bear then developed skin issue, which again had to be taken care of. After Bear was healthy, he ran around the house, roaming and discovering. Bear was happiest when he was roaming around, hiding, and discovering the house, probably because Bear was in a small place at Petco.
Bear also ate a lot, and this is where I should have paid more attention. Bear just gulped down food, but because Finn and Bear shared everything, there was no way to stop Bear from eating more than Finn. Finn even as a baby, always ate slowly chewing all his food carefully.
Losing a piggy to bloat is horrible, I lost a sow to sudden acute bloat 2 years ago. I have no idea what caused it. Even in-patient treatment at my vet couldn't bring her back from the brink, and she had been absolutely fine just hours beforehand.
