Hello all.
I have been away sometime, and lurking a little bit. Hope your all ok?
I thought i would mention to you all that we have now set up an exotic service in London at the Royal Veterinary College (Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital) in Camden. I am currently the designated exotic nurse as i hold a certificate in exotics. We have vets Jo who is a european exotic specialist and Nadene who has around 14 years experience in exotics. We are seeing first opinion animals now. We have a separate exotic ward (for prey species only so no ferrets etc). And we have the luxury of being able to send our animals for MRI or CT at our referral hospital if needed.
I'm not suggesting people changing vets, there are plenty out there good with piggies but wanted to make people aware that we are here. : ) This is a huge reason why i havent been online much as i've been busy with work and unable to have much spare time to pop on here. But it is exciting times seeing lots of exotics and being able to treat them.
Heres a little picture of the three of us. (I'm in the blue). And this is my little Onion we took for surgery a couple of months ago, here she is about to be prepped, unfortunately due to a condition never seen before (and untreatable) she had to be put to sleep under aneasthesia.
