Eriathwens piggies

So very sorry that Finley didn’t make it.
You did everything possible for him and filled his life with love.
Holding you in my heart ♥️

Thankyou all, its been very weird, he was one of my louder piggies, loved his food.. its very obvious he isn't here at meal times 😔

I had to pick up more metacam today at the vets and they were so lovely, asking how I was holding up. I'm still so tired but did manage a full night's sleep at least.

I've been dreading today because it's clean out day, which means everyone gets a thorough health check and frankly I've had enough of finding problems for one month 😅
However I was pleasantly surprised. The only issue I found was Panda has now lost one of her top incisors, so she currently only has 2, one top and one bottom, however she is still eating well and actually gained weight. She also produced another bladder stone which had lodged in her "penis" but other than that, she's been fine.

Collected Finleys ashes today, and same as when we dropped him off, we were met with several beautiful rainbows along the journey. At one point there was 2 at once although the 2nd didn't show up very well in the picture.

He is finally home, his little foot prints are lovely 😔

I hope that's true, and I hope he forgives me for not being able to do more 😔
I've been doing ok, just making sure I sleep and eat when I need to, I do keep getting his meds ready but it usually takes me a while to stop doing that. Luckily Tilly and Lily are managing fine, I have decided when ready I will take down the wall between them and Ivy, Popcorn and Kiwi and have Banjo join too, there is just enough space between the 2 cages for 6 piggies.

I've been sat with them for a little while, Iris even made an uncharacteristic appearance to pose and show off her ridgeback, maybe she's mellowing 😅 she's such a beautiful girl.

Of course the peace didn't last too long 😅
Luckily it isn't really an emergency, Delilahs dodgy foot it quite bruised looking so when my regular vet is back from his time off (due to her long history of problems and not wanting to start over with someone else) I will make her an appointment. I am concerned she has developed a blood clot in that leg, like Shelly did. It would explain why she is having issues with the bumblefoot/pressure sore but frustrating as really there isn't much that can be done.

Shes been getting some extra critical care feeds to help bulk her up a little bit, she's been doing a few odd looking poops in spite of eating really well.. she has been really enjoying them 😅 she likes to just flop her face into the bowl and make a huge mess!

OUCH! that looks sore!

Yes, I'm hoping there's maybe a 3rd painkiller we can add in that won't create any issues. I'm also wondering if maybe laser therapy may help, it does seem to work well on soft tissue.. fingers crossed we can find something.

Thankyou, I've swapped her out for Biscuit on Monday, hers has been pushed back to the 8th with the exotics specialist.. she will be the one spaying her if she has cysts so that's fine. Ive a few others that need seeing but I can call next week to try to grab some cancellations or something, they're not massively urgent.

2 more bladder stones today from Panda, shes heading to the vet next week to have her incisors burred again, her 2 are now back to 4, although one of the top ones is quite long so they all need bringing back to the same length again but hopefully that is the end of the breakages and falling outs! While she's there I'll have her bladder checked, I'm not sure why she's all of a sudden passing so many stones after a break of producing them. Luckily they don't bother her in the slightest, I cant imagine how she would cope if they all needed surgically removing!

Yes better out than in, for sure! I'm just glad she has the strange anatomy that's allowing them to pass, well.. they get as far as the exit and I have to help, they get lodged between the wall or her urethra and her 'penis' but checking every day is no hardship.

Delilah came out for another bowl of critical care.. Once she had finished she climbed up me as best she could and made herself comfy along my arm, head tucked into my armpit 😅 where after a bit of headbutting and nudging, she got herself comfortable and settled down for a nap.

It's been almost 20 minutes now and I can't feel my arm or hand anymore 🤣
