Hi my iam in India from delhi..Can u pls help me? about my piggi(Guinea pig).Actually my ginuea is sick 1 day. Today i noticed.he's does not pooping and not urine passed feel bloating he's does not eat anything.he's very upset.
Acttualy..I have been from India, from Delhi, there are no doctors for Piggies. There are not many things here for little pets..m very upset..pls help me.

Bloat, GI Stasis ( No Gut Movement) And Not Eating

I'm very sorry for your difficulty with your piggie. I'm not a health and illness expert, but maybe you will find some ideas to help your pig if you look at the link above.

As you are in India, some of the medicines listed may well have different names where you are, but I hope this will give you some ideas to start from. You could also try to massage the pig's tummy gently, or doing something that will vibrate it a little to try to release some of the gas - here we try things like holding an electric toothbrush against the tummy, taking the pig for a car ride or even putting it in a box on top of a working washing machine. These things can help the discomfort a little, but bloat really needs proper treatment which here requires a vet unfortunately.
Youve posted this in a general forum unfortunately, I'll see if it can be moved to the health forum for more expert answers.

Hi there its quite late in the UK so you may not get many replies, your piggy looks very bloated :(
Is it a gassy bloat, does he sound hollow if u gently tap his stomach/side? Or does he feel like a hot water bottle & filled with liquid?

If it's gassy you can help him by massaging his tummy, an electric toothbrush or vibration mat or placing on top of a washing machine on a spin drying cycle is good in an emergency.

I'm afraid to say I think this is an emergency.
Only feed him hay & nuggets for a few days--no vegetables, fruits or grass until he's stabilised & then reintroduce them slowly one by one over a few days.

If its liquid bloat u will need to get a vet (any general or small animal vet should do not necessarily an exotic or specialist vet) to prescribe a diuretic drug such as furosomide to get rid of the excess fluid & a gut stimulant such as zantac /emiprid to keep his gut moving.
Or his bloat will be made worse if he has gut stasis where the digestive system just shuts down.

Also a painkiller should be given such as Loxicom /meloxicam to help him feel better & more inclined to eat for himself.

Please if you can find any vet, it's better than no vet, you're piggy looks to be very bloated & this is a life or death emergency.

@Shilpa bhatnagar , if he is not eating, you also need to try to get some food into him, or his guts will stop working. If you usually give him nuggets or pellets as part of his diet you can mash them up with water and feed it using a 1ml medicine syringe (or a spoon if he will take it by himself). And then loxicom or meticam for dogs or cats. But you need a vet to get them

As someone has said already, what does the tummy sound like when you tap it at the side?
Does it have an empty sound? Or does it sound full of liquid?
If you could tell us which one then we can give you better help :)

This is what i think she should do. Vets in india for guinea pigs are going to be rare. In this case i would try the gripe water. Desperate times. I have used it with success and my vet knows i use it before vet visits
 
Because it’s sounds empty and hollow, you need to try and rub the tummy gently. This should help to get rid of some of the bloating. Keep us updated on if your Guinea pig pees or poos

If you can get the medication and some syringes (not with a needle on it) then it’s a start and we can help you from there.

Then you need the correct dosage for the weight of the pig. Cysapride is the one that must not be overdosed

I think we’re already in a life or death situation, correct dosages aren’t a priority right now since it’s just not possible. It’d be a case of giving the medication in small doses I think so not to go over. If the pig gets no medication it’ll most likely die anyway and getting a correct dosage is impossible since there’s no exotic vet, getting the medication is going to be challenging enough but it’s necessary
