OH NO! I'm so sorry! She was a beautiful rabbit- looks just like a little cottontail! I wonder if perhaps she had a stroke? You took great care of her and tried to do everything you could. Again, I'm sorry for the loss of your adorable little bunny.

My mum also thought of stroke. She has 0% knowledge in rabbits but that was her first thought too. It all happened so quickly :(

Thankyou so so much x

She really was a beauty! I'm sure there was nothing you could have done. It may have just been too much for her :(

Also your other bunny is a male, right? I think the surgery for the females is more invasive and I imagine there might be a higher risk for females, but you made the right choice in having her spayed as they can develop nasty cancers and infections a lot of times otherwise.. She's blissfully binkying all over up there in bunny heaven!

No, Toffee is female!
She's perfectly fine now and started eating about 2 days after surgery.
The vets did make it clear that spays are a lot more invasive and obviously have risks. But of course if everything goes to plan, it's an amazing thing to do!
Unfortuntely little Acorn just struggled with her recovery, no matter how much we helped :(

I'm so sorry @Abbie! You did your absolute best for her. Poor bun! Hope your alright! RIP little acorn. x

Oh this is so sad. I really am so very sorry. First you were thoughtful enough to get her spayed which would help her health and then this awful thing happened. Please know you did everything possible for your beautiful girl. I really am so very sorry.

Oh no Abbie :( I really am so sorry about Acorn! Poor little bun! You did all you could for her, thinking of you x

Today is being so difficult, I don't know what to do with myself.

I tried to be a responsible bunny parent and I cost her her poor little life. It was such a hard decision to get her spayed because I know of the risks and she was only a small little girl.

Ive had a pretty horrible feeling ever since we recieved the phone call saying they strugged to find her uterus. But I just can't believe it ended this way.

You got her spayed because it was in her best interest and in order to have a friend. There was noway you could have predicted this would have happened. Try not to blame yourself. I really do feel for you!

It is just such a tragic incident. Please do not blame yourself. She needed to be spayed. If she had a stroke then this may not even be related to the spay. My bunny has had a few mini strokes himself. My heart really goes out to you.

Her little body just couldn't take anymore.

I am grateful that I got to spend her last moments with her though. She had my mum and I there too see her through it. I just wish she could have held on so we could have got her to the emergency vets.

But I was there, she left me knowing I was there watching over her. It was quick, so she didn't suffer for too long. I couldn't imagine how even more awful it would have been to wake up and find she had already passed while I slept!

I am so sorry. You are a wonderful piggy and bunny mum, do not blame yourself.
Hugs,
Hop free princess.
