Did someone say bank holiday?

He's gone. He has a sore bladder and right kidney (opposite side this time) Craig said it could be another blockage but he wouldn't recommend surgery and there was a tiny outside chance of an infection that hadn't responded to the baytril. He said I could try another antibiotic if I wanted but he didn't believe it would change anything so we decided the kindest thing was to let him go

Oh Kelly I am so very sorry that you had to let Donald go.
I know it’s the hardest decision we make even though made out of love for them.
You did everything you could and gave Donald a wonderful life.
Now be gentle with yourself and allow yourself time to grieve

😭
OH NO! So sorry to hear this. I really thought Donald had turned a corner and was on the mend. You must be heartbroken ! You did everything you possible could for him and he had the best possible care. So hard to let them go. He had a wonderful life full of love and piggy wives.
My heart goes out to you, be kind to yourself as you grieve.
Sending massive hugs.
Popcorn free at the🌈 bridge little Donald.xx

Oh I’m so, so sorry you lost him, you did so much. Rest in peace little brave Donald xx Hope you’re ok, massive hugs xx

Sending you massive hugs, I am so sorry, you did absolutely everything you could for Donald, sometimes it's just not to be. Xx
Popcorn free of pain over the bridge Donald.

Oh Kelly, you could not have shown more love to this fellow. I’m so sorry that you had to make that decision but he is now free of pain, Huge hugs. Popcorn free Donald xx

Thanks everyone, the well wishes are much appreciated. We had a chat last night about the potential PTS as the kindest option, tried to prepare ourselves for it but you can never be fully prepared. Craig can be blunt which I like and I could tell he was trying to broach the subject as the kindest thing so he was quite relieved when I said we had already discussed it. I have been at work all day, no choice there as it's my last day before annual leave. It's kept me busy but has been really hard. I set myself off again when I got 4 green beans out for the piggies dinner instead of 3. I am definitely looking forward to a drink tonight and a good night's sleep

Oh my goodness I've only just seen this having been keeping up with the thread since the start. I am just so sorry. You truly are the epitome of a guinea pig parent and he will be so grateful for all you did. I am just so sorry for your loss x
