Well i'm a little scared at the moment - its sooo windy here and i'm sitting in an office on the 12th floor which is the highest floor in the building and the building is just swaying back and to and its getting worse! It just swayed so much a minute ago that some people ran out and we all stood up quick - as I type this all I can see is my monitor moving back and too!!

:o :o :o :o :o

shes prob still swaying hanging out of a window by her fingertips by the sounds of it,if the building i was in was doing that,i wouldnt be in that building :o

It is very windy here today in East Sussex not far from the coast. Ok, I can really hear it howling outside - me no likey :-\

Look after yourself everyone.

Take care,

Clare

ok I'm off for my interview,if someone looking like mary poppins flies past at subsonic speeds that means the winds got me :(

Good luck for your interview, the wind is really bad here in Lincoln, i dont like it :(

I am worried next doors trees are going to fall one is next to my shed the roof is fairly new but looks like it could come off. There is another tree at the front that is really bending too. I have got to fetch my son from school at 3.30 will leave little one at home if my daughter is home on time. I really dont like this at all.

2 of our windows have just been blown off their hinges and its only a 2 floor building :o. We've been told to keep away from the windows but they won't send us home. >:(

Keep safe everyone x

Wouldn't it be great if the roof came off or something and had to be closed down? ;D

oh yeah that would just be fab. I'm hoping the whole building gets blown away tonight ;D

all 3 of our bins just went and the sheds rocking all over ( i dunno what those pigs are up to ;D)

LMAO!
A tree on my street has just snapped in half. Just went to the post office with my daughter & it was up - on the way home it was on the road.
Our street is split in half- on the other half there is a free car park & written on the wall in chalk is a warning sign saying " don't park along this wall - the factory roof is blowing off" :o

When we were at the shops all the shopkeepers were in the main Mansfield road A60 trying to catch a dog who is lost & freaked out by the wind. Sometimes i love where I live there is a real sense of community. One even shouted my name & said that the dog was coming my way - didn't even know he knew it! Nottingham isn't that bad - honest 8)

it isnt? LMAOOOOO ;)

I've come back from school bloody furious >:( >:( >:( We lost all power this afternoon so went to school to see if they were shutting it to be told 'the children can't go home as some parents work' and 'they're safer at school than anywhere else'.

Well I don't work and could take my child home.

And MY child is safer at home with me >:(

Then found out they'd had them standing under the veranda for the whole lunch hour rather than keep them in so I went mad at that and told them they shouldn't be out at all in the gales. Got there this afternoon to pick him up and a trees blown down about 6ft from the veranda and the guttering's hanging off, hate to think if the kids had been standing under it as the teachers can't be bothered to keep them inside >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

bad winds here, at school we could hear them in the classroom. even worse! we have been locked out of our form room and have nowhere else 2 go, so we have 2 stand outside and battle it out. very worried, if it this is bad in the midlands, it most be very dangerous by the coast. my little piggies are in the garage, (which is thankfully made of bricks) so i dont think there in any danger.

do you think they'll close down the schools with it? we've got moc sats on at the mo ;D

No winds or rain here. We had that last week and for most of December (it rarely makes the national news if it's in Scotland! Probably because we're used to it!). This morning we had 2 inches of snow fall in just over an hour (during rush hour). Journeys that normally took half an hour were taking 3 hours or more. Council made a big error in judgement - they decided not to grit the roads due to the intermittent rain showers and then the gritters/ploughs got stuck in all the heavy traffic. Oh well!

hehe sorry been mad busy cause of the winds lots of servers went down! I'm in Crewe in Rail house next to the train station on the 12th floor! It was horrible all day it was swaying - someone went home feeling sick! haha then we had a leak from the roof as well!

Hope its not as bad tomorrow!

The weather has been awful here too, the afternoon more than morning. We looked out and infront of the library there were loooooooads of tiles, it looked like 85% of the roof had came off. There are also loads of massive trees in the middle bit and branches were snapping off of them. So we finished 30 mins early and no school tomorrow.

Darn you who do not have school tomorrow! >:(
i still have 2 lol, the wind interrupted our french test, the windows werre closed yet u cud still hear it blowing and feel it, I'm startin 2 think maybe the school walls r made out of paaper ::)

lol, the year 10s and 11s are still meant to go in because they have exams, but I bet they don't. I'm happy I have no school, but if no school means that the weather is this bad and people are getting hurt, I'd rather be at school.

Hope everyone is ok?

I lost the top of my chicken run last night, my metal shed also moved but not far.

thank fully I took the trampoline down and put away on the weekend, as the climbing frame ended up in the field opposite.

I hate the wind I didn't sleep a wink last night and have had a bad head all day because of it
we still have 7 fisherman missing at sea, since last week. divers went down yesterday but it got called off because the winds picked up.

hope things settle down for us all soon

hugs to all

karen
