COVID-19 Coronavirus

I agree, @piggieminder, those letters, for most patients tend to be a requirement under something called QOF, they're not computer generated, but someone has to check the demographic data of people with 'x' condition, and the surgery is required to have 'x' number of follow ups to maintain funding, it's all a bit mad really.

This is what I think to hand sanitiser. No amount of hand cream is heeling my hands, the sanitiser just undoes everything again. The brown is work dirt. It won't come off, tried everything

As for the sudden now we have to wear face masks in shops. That's just very very suspicious to me. Someone's up to something. Still I'm falling in line, wearing my mask and washing my hands a lot View attachment 148229

Let's not start with all the conspiracy theories again. The mask thing isn't really sudden, it's the government bowing to pressure and scientific evidence that, for short periods when in enclosed spaces with other people, it prevents droplets potentially containing Covid-19 from being spread around and infecting others. It's a difficult one as cloth face coverings still let small droplets through and they aren't sure whether the infection can spread this way

Yes please lets avoud conspiracy theories, I had enough of that last weekend when my old mum's potty neighbour started shouting over the fence about it being chemical warfare not a virus!
The science is constantly evolving as we get to know more about the virus, also the UK is learning and following the example of other European countries like Germany who seem to have been more strict and managed things better. Nothing suspicious at all. Compulsary masks in certain situations are a reasonably cautious trade-off for more things opening, especially ahead of the summer holidays!

probably best to leave it,until it heals.it is painful when you have contact dermitisis/or sensitive skin.
This all started back when I worked in a sandwich factory for 5 years, had to sanitise my hands about 50 times a day

I won't I was just annoyed about my painful hands 😱
Your hands do look very sore, do you have some moisturising cream? Of course not probably you are a bloke :) but maybe you could ask Mrs SkyPipDotBernie to recommend a moisturiser?
Aveeno cream is very good, its a top notch moisturiser and my old Mum can get it on prescription now for where she gets sore chapped skin from her incontinence pants! Which may be too much information but its very good stuff :) or cocoa butter creams are good too :)

Thanks, but I a prescription cream that was left in bulk at my paps house who passed away. I just can't keep up with the damage from the sanitiser.

My hands are so dry that they bleed, so I put lotion on it like 10 times a day, it’s really effective!

You need some O'Keeffe's working hands cream, it's expensive, but worth it. ;)

I got my small tub at the start of lockdown from Asda when it was on offer for £5.60, my hands were shot to hell from constant washing and sanitiser!

Tesco stock it now though I can’t remember the price. But do shop around.

My hands recover at the weekend then once I’m back to work they go dry again! But I can’t use hand moisturiser like I used to before so just have to suffer it. At least they’re not cracking as much as they did in the beginning.

Mine have been the same now I'm back at work. Wash them so many times by myself & with children, plus the cleaning sprays & gloves for nappies. My hands are always dry & peeley on a Weds. They've got 3 weeks to recover now!

Did our now weekly shop today. So many people in the supermarket with a mask on - and their noses hanging out! Seems to be a recurring pattern that people with ill fitting masks think they are invincible and get in my personal space. I still have no wish to go into the town centre and shop but I think I will need to do this at some point so that I have done it. Likewise with a pub / restaurant I think the first time will be the hardest, like getting the bus was.

I'm off work again now for a couple of weeks with it being the holidays. I am worried about having a job in September as currently there are lots of children leaving for school and not that many coming in. I fear that as one of the last ones in, I would be asked to go. Just something else for me to worry about!

Hope everyone is ok and coping.

Maybe we should make it a drinking game? Take a shot each time you see someone incorrectly wearing a mask (take two shots if the person incorrectly wearing their mask is a political leader on TV), take a shot each time you see someone handling a mask in the wrong way (touching the mask in front of the nose/mouth is soooo common with my colleagues), take three shots when you see someone in a public place not wearing a mask but holding it in their hand (it's the thought that counts. Not), ...

We'd be dead within an hour.
