COVID-19 Coronavirus

I’m hoping I get accepted onto a vaccine trial. Had my screening today which all seemed ok. Got to get the sign off then hopefully will get to start the blood tests next week!

That sounds interesting! Things like this fascinate me, the science behind it anyway!

I feel like I'm on a seesaw this week. Started off with a 3 hour group video chat with my friends which set me up for the week and now it's only Tuesday & feel like I've hit the ground.

Sounds interesting, I just did my home covid swab, I was starting to feel better and resigned it to a cold with gi upset (felt horrifically sick all day and can't smell much) the swab pushed me over the edge and made me puke, then you have to stick the same swab up your nose 😷 now I feel like death again 🙄 headache from hell is well and truly back 🤦‍♀️

Hey, I haven't been on here much lately, just because I'm finding I have not much spare time anymore, with work, trying to protect my my wife who has asthma, looking after grandparents in law side, queueing at shops for hours. Been really down in the dumps lately. But surviving. Having 2 family funerals during lock down didn't help, one my paps, and the other my wife's side of the family ( that one not covid related). Also I've been feeling a bit rough with tonsilitis, which I thought ut ohh sore throat at first, but it's not corona.

On the plus side,my work seems to be OK and has now started manufacturing coronavirus protective screens for offices and shops. So hopefully il keep my job, most the work at the moment is old unfinished work from before lockdown, so we will see what happens I guess 👍

I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well lately, and I am super sorry for your loss. :(
You seem to be going through a hard time lately, don't be worried to tell us how you feel.
Enjoy spending extra time with your piglets. Guinea pigs make everything better. :luv:

Coronavirus social distancing is out the door due to all the riots in the US.
Due to gathering of large crowds participating in riots, people said coronavirus will spread more because these rioters haven’t been social distancing.

There was a huge protest today when my mom and I drove home from the vet.
Luckily, it appeared to be peaceful, but people were huddled together really tightly.

It isn’t so peaceful in the US. Rioters are targeting and killing police officers. Seattle chief of police came out and announced the police can’t respond to 911 calls. People who are in need can‘t get the protection they need from the police.

I live in the US, as well.
I see riots on the news and feel so bad. :(

So sorry to hear you have not been feeling to great. I've had 2 funerals during lockdown, one family member and one very close friend of 40 years( not covid). I really do hope things start to look brighter for you and send you massive hugs xx

Rest up so you can get well soon.

My mood this week hasn't improved. I feel thoroughly irritated!

I'm feeling a little anxious as should find out what is happening about work in July soon. I want to go back but I don't. Not looking forward to getting back on a bus at all. Work say they don't have to give us notice as although furloughed still have contract but they going to have to give me some so I can work out what kind of service the bus is doing. Not to mention face covering situation (still don't understand why have to wear face coverings now & not three months ago!)

Any one planning to hit the shops this week?

I'm sorry you're not feeling happy lately. Spend time with your piglets--they fix everything. :luv:
The face-covering situation in the US is odd. People yell at others for not wearing face masks, and people have even given me, and my mom nasty looks for not wearing them in our car! Our car!?
I don't really understand why people are going out in the first place if they are so bothered by other people! We are all human! :)

So... I've just been told I'm going back to work next week.

Major stressing now as trying to find what the bus timetable is, order a mask/cover & work out how I will get home if the last bus that leaves town is full (as obviously only limited numbers allowed on bus & last bus has changed to 6.45pm instead of 11pm).

I'm sad too, I can't really see any of the people I want to see but can go to work.

Good luck to you, I hope everything goes smoothly. I have a feeling I'll be back at work next month too if Boris announces tomorrow that hotels etc can reopen on the 4th July. I'm a bit worried if I'm honest.

I work in retail and was called prior to opening about circumstances, I'm shielding with my parents (they're high risk but not extreme high risk and so it was a personal choice) but I'm petrified of bringing it into the home. I broke down crying to my manager. Thankful I am still furloughed for the time being but I'm dreading that phone call to say I need to go back. Hopefully though, as things improve my confidence will build enough that I feel safe to go back 😓 Good luck when you do need to return x

did anyone got the news we launched the coronavirus medicine which has 100% recovery rate in 7 days🥳🥳🥳it’s available for the public now and is going to be transported to other countries soon!

Where did you read this? All very reassuring if it's true x

Bless you. I know how you feel. My mums 63 and not high risk but I've been worrying so much about catching it and passing it on. I'll be waiting for the phone call soon as Boris has given the go ahead to open hotels, pubs etc. I know things will be very different when I go back and I'm hoping it doesn't make my anxiety worse x

Can anyone offer me some advice/support please 😊
So as of 4th July, they're saying households can now mix, it's been 4 months since my long term boyfriend and I have seen one another properly, and I was hoping to see him on this date, and possibly stay the night.
My family and I have been very strictly following lockdown "rules" initially entirely shielding through the worst of it, however, my boyfriends family... they're following it but a bit slap dash if you like. The daughter/sister moved out at the start of lockdown with her partner and throughout the whole of lockdown they've still been mixing. They're a very sociable family, and more than likely will be going to the local pub when they reopen, I won't be going with them, but there is no way I can gaurentee them transmitting it to me and me bringing it home.
I'm dying to so my boyfriend, it's it's been super hard through lockdown, but I'm absolutely petrified I'll end up ruining all the efforts of my family to stay safe 😓

Are your family shielding (as in the term they use for those who cannot have contact with others at all) due to somebody being at risk due to having serious health issues?

After 4 months i can imagine you must be really excited at the thought of seeing him again, but would it be possible to meet up with just him somewhere else and not spend time with his family?
To be honest if you are concerned then chances are you will worry the entire time you are with them anyway, but could you suggest meeting him outside somewhere and spend the day having a picnic, or gong somewhere nice together, just the two of you?

I will be traveling back to the UK soon, and we have a very low infection rate in Switzerland plus i have been following the rules religiously and made sure we have shielded to the best of our ability.
But simply becasue I will have to spend 4 - 5 hours at an airport + on a plane + at an airport I will not be seeing my elderly MIL while I am there.
I will be staying in a hotel less than 10 minutes from her, but I can not take the risk that I might pick something up en route and pass it on to her.
If that happened I couldn't live with myself.

So at the end of the day only you can make the decision that is right for you.

So my mum had diabetes and my dad has a mechanical heart valve. So neither are in the shielding category but have health conditions that could lead to greater complications should they contract it

Turns out I've completely misinterpreted the rules and even though two households can go indoors, and stay the night, you have to social distance 🤦🏻‍♀️ Where's the logic idk. Surely the whole family has the same "germs" and so if I'm meeting him, I'm theoretically meeting his family too 😣
I wish you the safest of flights when you come to the UK, stay safe 💕
As I said we shielded through the worst of it, apart from walking the dog (we have an Alaskan malamute, there was no way on this earth he'd cope not going for a walk for 3 months) we have now popped to a couple of different shops ensuring we could keep social distancing as much as possible and wearing masks. I just feel the advice is so mixed, unclear, and quite honestly, how is it fair that someone can go sit in a pub garden full of strangers, but people can't give their partners who don't live with them, or any family member for that case, a hug 😓

So I have my hairdressers appointment booked and they have asked me to arrive in a mask... Not sure why as I'm pretty sure I'll have to take it off to have my hair washed and cut
