COVID-19 Coronavirus

Plenty of people out and about this morning although do think it is a bit quieter than usual. Pound shops & savers absolutely rammed though. I was in pound shop as it opened bought my pie meat & left. Got everything I wanted except a bottle brush for my drinks bottle. That's the thing I really wanted!

The only place I saw toilet rolls was pound shop. We don't need any yet, still have a few left!

The school may have shadow staff in if she's a carer, ours sent a message saying if anyone is a service sector worker such as fire, police, NHS or a carer to email school with their job title and child's name and class so that if they are forced to close they can try to make provisions for those families where everyone is still healthy and their parents are providing an important service to keep their children in school or provide childcare for them 😊

The kids have thankfully gone today. She got a letter from the school when they finished saying both child and staff numbers were low so they might have to close but think think they’re going day by day. A lot of the staff are older and have been there years, were my teachers as a kid (even 30yrs ago in the nursery!) so think they’ve had to self isolate.
My sister said a lot of the kids that are being kept off in the area are all out together playing ball games anyway! So a bit pointless! :doh:
I’m down to half a loo roll and no baby wipes, no cat litter either! For the ladies not for me! :))

Uni computer network just went down! Obviously struggling with 27000 students and 2400 staff trying to work online off campus all at once... guess its time to clean the guinea pig cages now!

It's a difficult one, there's a huge process of testing and approval to go through. This will be hurried through due to the pandemic but I doubt that the red tape can be bypassed by April. Either way we have to look at the positives that at least there are vaccines being developed, it's not a completely hopeless case
 
Haha maybe we really are screwed because we buy as we run out on pretty much everything 🙈🙈 we just don't have the storage space and as a family of 5 with 8 pets we get through things pretty fast 🙈🙈

Aw hope fully the panic will die down. There will probably always be random things to buy. I'll look after your piggies anytime 😉 They are the cutest I've ever seen 😍, after my black piggies of course!

Hope you don’t have any more troubles getting stuff. I’m the same with it just being me and my pets, buy as I need stuff so kind of leaves you screwed atm when there’s nothing on the shelves!
 
Anyone else had an email from their vets? My local one’s sent one saying you need to wait outside at the practice and text them then they’ll call you in! And offering video calls for £25! Which you’ll then get back if you have to go for a consultation! :eek: Never done that before!

I love black piggies 🖤 I am blessed with 4 boootiful pigwigs 😍 I'm more concerned that if we have to isolate we won't get a delivery slot 😂

Mine weren't booking routine checks yesterday, just treatment and emergencies I hope effies spay won't get cancelled Tuesday I booked a month in advance 😂 she keeps trying to escape but no way she's going out till she's spayed and chipped I don't want a missing kitten and definitely don't want a pregnant one! 😱
 
Sainsbury's have sent an email that they are reserving the first hour in the morning for older and at risk people tomorrow and that you can buy only three grocery items of each sort and only a limited number of other high demand items in one go. GOOD!

They also say that delivery priority from next week is given to the elderly and people with underlying high risk problems.

Except that with 26 piggies and a twice weekly shop I have to be rather creative - I usually go through a cucumber and a pack of peppers per day just for the piggies... not to mention any of the same for us humans!

We do the same - just start looking out for packs as they are coming in and shop as normal. The big rampage should be hopefully over now and things should quieten down and normalise from now on.

I have a nearly 15yo rescue like that 😂🙈
 
Hubby is pre-booking deliveries every week and slots are almost gone. We just need to get the weekly supply for piggies and of course milk and bread for us. We already have enough of the other things we need. Because hubby has compromised health, we can't really go to the shop. If we run out of something before the next delivery next week, he has to take me to town and I'll go to the shop, while he stays in the car. Fingers crossed that won't happen though.

We had to use it her second night with us to get a diahhrea sample (turns out she had clostridium) 🙄 it was so liquidy I had to use the Katkor pippete because thhe scoop it just ran off 😷 she also sprayed the wall with it, it was everywhere 😷😷😷 poor baby thankfully it was soon fixed! 💖

Oh no poor girly! And you cleaning it! :vom: Rosie suffered a lot with UTIs so we used it for that really, only once with her sister for the runs and she’s very good but a fiend for eating what she shouldn’t! Rosie’s not had one since being an indoor cat a few years ago (think it was because of stress) but I’ve got a little one in the cupboard for emergencies!

Babybelle is indoor, she's never shown any interest in going out despite being a stray previously, she also has allergies so is on a special diet so she can't go out anyway 💖

Yes my Rose is a special one too, got flea allergy dermatitis so used to lick herself silly and have bald patches everywhere from one spot, on steroids for years but that’s stopped once indoors too! Save a fortune at the vets with her (touch wood!) these days! Although she did have a thing for one of the vets and liked rolling around the table for him on her visits :))

Yes got something like that, but it did say something about people struggling to get help for pets or something.. so maybe some leeway in an emergency?
