I'm putting our phone number through neighbour's doors as I think of people who may need help, especially the elderly who may have to stay home due to the no one over 70 tpgo out rule.

We are already in contact with our next door neighbour family where the dad is high risk. My hub is is borderline risk (just short of 70) and will have to stay in the car while I am in the supermarket but I am going to shove cards through all our end of the street as we have got quite a few elderly people.
Providing a friendly ear on the phone is something that even those with anxiety can do, so everybody can contribute in some way or other!
Around my area, there's nothing but pocket tissues. And only 2 little packets on the shelf I see in a little shop. My only option is the shower jet spray setting( which is actually more hygienic, but time consuming) I'm not even kiddingGuys for loo roll check your local shops the little independents we have lots in Wolves, family run businesses that have stuff in. Supermarkets are getting raided but smaller shops have stocks of wolves is anything to go on currently
Yes I totally agree our local corner shop keeps checking the big supermarkets then buying in what they have run out of, including lots of loo roll- also asking us if there's anything we'd like stocked before he goes to the cash'n'carry- local shop keepers can really help here getting things in for any local regular customers who can't get stuff online or in the big supermarkets!Guys for loo roll check your local shops the little independents we have lots in Wolves, family run businesses that have stuff in. Yes good idea re cash vs card
I was in my local Pets at Home earlier. They have a big slow down of animal sales (not necessarily a bad thing) and wont have any more coming in for weeks despite having sold out. I guess this will be the case in other P@Hs. It is a precaution thing in case they have to temporarily close. They said they had had the busiest weekend since they opened in 2009 and cat and dog food was almost sold out so it seems that pet food is also being panic bought
I did notice this panic. I'm stocked up on hay but not much of it is very good looking, but the pigs will eat it if nothing else is on offer. The pet shop panic is in full swing...
I just rang my independent pet shop re. hay situation but as expected no hay to be had until their next delivery on Tuesday (from a local farmer).
At least the shop personnel are willing to put my usual weekly buy of 10 bags to the side for pick up on Tuesday afternoon as I have been one of their regular customers since they started up.

And everyone was saying how stupid I was in my family and inlaws by me saying people will stockpile hay. What do I have to do do make people listen
I wouldn't actually call mine a stockpile, the problem I have, is I'm working away from home until Thursday ( can't get to shop on delivery day) so I've had to plan it the best I can. My wife has a bad back and can't lift big bags of hay right now. Slipped disc problems come and go from years back. I will be giving out bags if friends are on need, and I'm now starting to not cover the whole cage in hay, the pigs will be living on fleece and just hay for eating nowThe problem is that the more people stockpile, the worse the situation will get. I am deliberately not stockpiling (I simply don't have the space) but I have built up a small extra in reserve to last me until the next regular delivery.
@Wiebke do you use the big tesco at Cannongate? I go there too occasionally, so if you are stuck for transport to get there, send me a PM and I could give you a liftWe are already in contact with our next door neighbour family where the dad is high risk. My local independent pet supplies shop said they weren't having any problems with supply or panic buying, when I was there on Thursday ... Hope it stays that way!The pet shop panic is in full swing...
