My dog has a coat, he is a Shar-Pei, if know about the breed, they only have 1 layer of hair, thus he gets cold when its raining/snowing. Plus he hates the rain so his coat is for practical use.
I have two Skinny Pigs and I disagree with keeping them in clothes also. They are an indoor animal and should never be put outdoors with a jumper on this is not sufficent to keep them warm. I admit to dressing Kanika up for photographs, she has a couple of jumpers made out of socks, the maximum time she would be wearing them is 10minutes when I get some good photographs, then its removed. My hairy piggies have also woren scarves, hats but these would never be left on.
Capy my first Skinny had very bad dry skin and she used to itch terribly, with them having no hair she would cut herself quiet bad. This is when I came up with the sock jumper idea. I would apply plenty of cream onto her skin and then put the jumper over the top to help it soak in and stop her from itching. She would wear it for approx' 1hr and I would be around her during this time to make sure she never got stuck or hurt herself. Sadly Capy died due to diarrhoea but she would have the cream applied twice a day and it did help soothe her skin.
