Cedric's Eye Problem - A Diary

Iv not managed to get on the forum for a few weeks due to getting married and having I'll family members but for the last hour Iv spent reading this very very helpful diary. About 5 weeks ago we adopted a 6 month old bore who had have to have his eye remove we was told it was for the same reason as Cedrick so Iv found this very interesting to see what he had and may have been through they did tell us he had a slight post op infection but I'm very pleased to say he is abserlutly fine now and I have to say his the boldest piggy Iv ever had his not scared of falling off of anything and have to watch him every second his out of his cage, if you did not know he only had one eye you would not know from the way he runs, plays and gets into EVERYTHING. Thank you sooooooo much for taking the time to write this to help others to know what to look out for and what to do if we see anything. Please keep letting us know how he gets on.

Cedric is doing very well. He saw Simon on Monday and his dental issues seem to have completely resolved, so the retrobulbar abscess was most likely the cause. He is still getting some pus discharging from the eye socket, so we have moved on to injectable Marbocyl in addition to the Zithromax. We are also flushing his eye socket with F10. Cedric remains in very good spirits and his weight is stable.

:hug:Thanks for that , l am so happy he is ok, ever since l saw his photo Cedric found a spesial place in my heart

Merry Christmas Cedric, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and we also look forward to hearing your eye healing eye healing nicely X

Aw Cedric is stunning and such a brave piggy. Having gone through an eye removal op with my Eliza (R.I.P) which sadly developed a stubborn infection, this thread has pulled at my heart strings. We too used manuka honey and it worked wonders.

Keep going Cedric, Emma and Debbie. You're doing great xx

Hope you are feeling better and enjoying your Christmas Cedric :)
Cedric is really well in himself and enjoying life. Well he enjoys life until he sees me arrive each morning to give him his Marbocyl injection. You can see the look on his little face 'oh no, it's that bloody woman again'.

Bless him, Cedric has won allot of people's hearts on here, please keep us updated on his continuing progress.

What a fascinating thread...shows that sometimes things aren't straight forward and the challenges faced. Very interesting and eventually should be pinned on the forum. Cedric is clearly quite a character. Look forward to hearing more.

Hi all,

Apologies for the lack of updates on Cedric - it has been manic lately!

The boy is doing well. Teeth seem to be doing great. His eye is now discharging less gloop and he is solely on Manuka honey, which seems to be working for him.

Here are a few shots of Cedric from this week, feeding his face. He's really quite good at it!

Pleased to see he's doing so well. I actually met Cedric when I bumped into you at the Cat and Rabbit Clinic when I was there with Bubble.
