Gaia: "The Slave has been talking about giving me a trim again and I won't stand for it! Miss Bramble, I'm sure the two of us could take her out (and then your Slave, after a snack, if there is time). Let us plot together in my new Carrot Cottage the Slave bought me, which I'm grateful to her for, but not so much that I'm not going to whack her if given the chance."
 
This morning at weigh and check time, I noticed that Misty had some hay wrapped around her bottom teeth. She was a good girl as I VERY gently removed it. The big clump at the front was relatively easy to remove, then I noticed that there was loads at the back of her teeth and that it was, in fact, a hay seed that had somehow imbedded itself into the gum behind the front teeth. Luckily I was able to remove this too after a couple of minutes so I didn't have to put her through the stress of going to the vets. She let me remove the hay without any nips or bites or fighting me off with her front paws as I expected her to. I'm sure she knew I was helping her and just let me get on with it. She got lots of coriander and a big cuddle (she loves her cuddles) as a reward. Her mouth must feel so much better now.

When Thea's weight goes below 860g I top her up morning and night with SS Recovery Plus. She adores the stuff but is far to dignified to lick it out of the bowl and insists on being syringe fed. Tonight she was very impatient for her num nums and I was clearly taking too long so she took the syringe out of the bowl and threw it on the table top as if to say "well hurry up then Slave!"😂😂
 
This morning, Thea weighed in at 843g which is the lowest she has ever been. So 3 top ups with SS Recovery Plus today. Hopefully this will get some weight on her. She is weighed every morning as she is 8 years old and 3 months so I can keep an eye on what she is eating. She passes her weekly check every week.

It's had not to be she's such a lovely girl. She is going, along with Misty and Bramble, to stay with Aunty Lilli on Tuesday for just over a fortnight while I have my American Adventure. Lilli loves Thea too. The girls love it at Aunty Lilli's they get spoilt rotten and have other piggies to talk to.
 
It's good to know that The One and Only Thea (Shop Steward, Retired) is still a feisty girl even though she has been on medication for the last week.

I was told off severely by her this morning as I clearly wasn't quick enough to tend to her needs. I had to clean out the run this morning and Thea heard me in the garage. I was just about to put the clean stuff in the run when she came out of her hay tray, came up to the mesh at the front of the hutch and wheeked at me in her "I'm annoyed and you better do something about it" tone. I explained to her that I couldn't get her out of the hutch, clean her eyes, give her her meds, give her a cuddle, coriander and breakfact until I had cleaned the run out. She seem satisfied by this explanation and let me get on with it. Then I got her out, sorted her out, popped her in a nice clean run which she inspected to make sure I had done it all properly, gave Misty and Bramble morning cuddles, combs and coriander and then gave all three breakfast.
