Betsy's Guinea Pigs

Just weighed Thea. She has lost 106g in 2 weeks. I am hoping this is due to stress caused by the bonding then coming back home and having to share her hutch with Misty and Bramble. I'll keep an eye on it and weigh her daily for a while.

I hope it’s just a blip and she soon starts putting the weight back on.

That's what I'm hoping too. For about a year she's been between 970 and 1010g and this morning she weighed in at 897g. The only thing that has changed in the last couple of weeks is that she has been bonded with Misty and Bramble so I can't think of anything else it could be.

I bet it’s the stress of being away and the bonding. This is great news, I am so jealous. If only Posh, Ginger, Kiki and Hector could all get on and live in one cage it would be so nice but I don’t think that will ever happen 🙄

I didn't think it would happen for Thea, Misty and Bramble either. I wimped out of bonding them for a second time (the first time didn't go well) and asked Lilli to do it. Hector sounds like a one sow boar!
He’s not the problem, he loves all the ladies. I think it’s Kiki who would not share the same space as Posh and Ginger

It’s Posh and Kiki who are the firebrands, although Posh has really chilled over the last couple of years. I cannot even bring Posh and Ginger into “Kiki’s lounge” as all hell breaks out with Kiki threatening to jump up into the sofa and give them one. Lots of gnashing of teeth and real dominance if Hector even goes anywhere near the sofa. She is really aggressive towards them both, she thinks our lounge is her territory and she can be pretty scary even towards me if she gets their scent

I’m so glad your three ladies are now sharing an apartment 😍

Last night while I was giving the girlies supper, Bramble decided to challenge Thea to her 2nd piggie status while Misty (top piggy) was out of the way at the other end of the hutch in the closed off bedroom bit. Thea was complaining as Bramble was nipping her (but not submissive squealing). Misty clearly heard what was going on and was right there rumbling away giving Bramble a good telling off. Only when Misty was certain that harmony had been restored, did she go back to the bedroom.

The bond is still settling. They have been together 2 weeks on Easter Monday. I'm leaving them alone more than I normally do while they work it out between themselves. It feels weird but it's not for much longer then I can spend the same amount of time with them as I usually do. I'm not worried about the bond because yesterday morning, Thea let Bramble into her hay tray.

I went in to give the girlies their veggie dindins just now (I know it's late by about 4 hours but I've been helping Son No 1 move today) and Bramble and Thea were in the Living Room best of friends tonight and Misty was in the bedroom as usual. Misty is a bit more timid than Bramble so she is taking longer to explore her new surroundings.

Who does Miss Bramble complain to when her dinner is 4 hours late? :yikes:

Tonight was an exception. I explained to all three of them this morning that dinner may be late as we were helping Son No 1 move house. They knew something was up as they had a duvet day rather than go in the run. My only hope is that Thea, Misty and Bramble don't report me to the GPU!

 too late!:coat:

Dear GPU
Our veggie dindins was 4 hours late tonight! 4 HOURS! This is disgraceful! We were so very hungry, we were fading away! This morning Slave did explain that we were having a duvet day and that dindins might be delayed somewhat. We all thought that would be OK as she was busy helping Son No 1 move house and that maybe dindins would be an hour or so late which we could cope with but to expect us to wait another 3 hours, meaning 4 hours in total is utterly shocking and deplorable!

We know what to do to make sure it never happens again. As you are aware Thea is Shop Steward (Retired) and Bramble is the current Shop Steward. But we would like it noted that our Slave has on this rare occasion, failed to meet out needs.

Wheeks

Bramble, Shop Steward, Thea Shop Steward (retired) and Misty

Dear Bramble, Thea and Misty,
first of all we would like to congratulate all of you in your new living arrangement.

But in all honestly: dinner 4 hours late? We can't believe it. Your slave might have got a good excuse for being late this once, but if you accept this incredibly misbehaviour this time, who knows how many other misdemeanors your slave will try to get away with in the future.
We would strongly recommend that you put your paw down and consider the same punishments that you would usually go for when fighting for other piggies' rights ... like putting your slave on the Naughty List forever or consider the Wall of Shame.

Yours encouraging any action of punishment to put your slave in her rightful place
Tessy, chief nipper of GPFANS

Poor Bramble and poor Thea! Bramble is experiencing a strong season and Thea is having to put up with all the chasing and mounting and then Misty tells Bramble off and Bramble stops chasing and mounting Thea for about half and hour and then it all starts up again! It's chaos in the garage!

Miss Bramble and Minerva could form a club for horny piggies and Thea and Gaia could create one for their victims.

I think I have a happy Thea. For the first time EVER since I adopted her in November 2021 Thea actually WHEAKED for her veggie dindins when she heard me say "Dindins" Even when her best mate Lexi was here she didn't wheak and neither did Lexi. I can't begin to tell you how delighted I am!

Hopefully they’ve got used to each other and the hutch set up and it will be pain sailing from now on. Lovely that they are all together and that Thea has wheeked for her tea.
