Who or what does the statue represent? (Or was it one of those living statue things?)
Not the best photo but the best I could get in my rush to grab my phone when I spotted what was going onā¦. A woodpecker was gathering sunflower hearts from my feeder this morning - and feeding them to a fledgling woodpecker who was satView attachment 204952 on the fence (sadly out of range of my shot)

Just saw this female common darter make her maiden flight after she hatched from our pond! You can tell freshly hatched dragonflies by the wings being supremely shiny like cellophane.
Not been to Blackpool since I was 25 to visit my Grandad who lived in Lytham St AnneāsView attachment 204810 View attachment 204811

It is the "Call of the Sea" mermaid sculpture celebrating protection of the coast and marine life
If you think the mermaid is bad what about this one in St Austell, cost a fortune and is suppose to represent the china clay industryIt is the "Call of the Sea" mermaid sculpture celebrating protection of the coast and marine life
Its a bit naff isnt it but I love a dodgy mermaid, I have one my late mum's friend sewed in blue and grey felt with huge hair and dodgy eyeliner that looks like Amy Winehouse deceased, a Greek painted one who looks like a body builder drag queen with saucepan breasts, and a Jamaican one in metal who has seal flippers and no breasts at all lol (wondering about the feasability of getting this gal into the back of a vauxhall corsa...)
Earth goddess isnāt what comes to mind when I look at the pictureIf you think the mermaid is bad what about this one in St Austell, cost a fortune and is suppose to represent the china clay industry
āUnwanted junkā: Earth Goddess statue prompts unholy reaction in St Austell
