A Big Adventure

Quiet day in Christchurch yesterday. Visited galleries and museums for a bit of culture.
Another photo from the wildlife park - just to remind all piggy slaves that our furry treasures may be poop machines but ………

Today my sister was off work so we went to the beach and to Lyttleton for lunch.

Tomorrow is packing day. An evening meal with all the family and then tearful goodbyes on Saturday morning before 2 looooooong flights separated by 8 hours at Singapore airport.

The big adventure ends and it has been wonderful beyond words.
The next big adventure is retirement in July

Thank you for sharing your big adventure, its been lovely to follow along.

This really looks like the trip of a lifetime. So glad you’re having a wonderful adventure.

Best of luck for your return journey! I hope the flights are smooth and uneventful ✈️ Sadly it looks like the weather on your return here is going to be more like winter than spring still! 🌧️🌦️

I do have a snuggly jumper for the journey home.
Getting autumnal here so cooler than when we arrived, but it will be a bit of a shock to the system when we get back.

Thank you for sharing your adventure ……we’ve all loved the photos 🥰

Your new adventure is not far away 😂

My husband is looking into us going in 2026! Thank you @Merab's Slave ❤️
You’ll love it.
NZ is a beautiful country and there’s so much to see and do.
We went with a company called Distant Journeys - not the cheapest but they were outstanding.

Home now and haven’t a clue what day it is or what time it is. Mind and body are out of sync with the time difference 😁

Welcome home.

Thank you. I’ll pass that on to him. ❤️

Long haul is tiring.
We had 3 nights in Singapore on the way out which helped with the time difference ( 8 hours ) so we only had a 5 hour time difference to NZ.
Coming home we did it without a stopover so we left my sister’s at 8:45 on Saturday morning and arrived home at 11:30 on Sunday morning which was 12:30 am on Monday morning in NZ.
2 flights, of 10 hours and 14 hours.
It’s important to plan some recovery time afterwards.
It was well worth the travelling though.

If your husband won’t do long haul flights @fluffysal there’s always a cruise 😁

I once went on a mini cruise, only three days Cyprus to Egypt. I couldn't deal with the attentiveness of the staff as I found it very overwhelming as I am somewhat on the neuro divergent spectrum. Boat travel is something we have discussed though, finances permitting.
