Hi

Thanks for your messages of support they have meant so much, it's been a difficult morning. Have rang the vets and he's come through it :smitten: I am collecting him at 4 as he's still a little drowsy.

I am so, so relieved.

That is good news, lets hope he will be well on the road to recovery O0
What a fab piggy mum you are, Sweep is a lucky boy :smitten:

Hi Wanda,

That's great news! Give him a big kiss from me.

I'm glad he's a bit better :smitten:
hugs to you both
sammy xx

Sweep home, he is totally delighted sat him on my shoulder and he purred in my ear :smitten: the vet thought he was lovely and one of the nurses wanted to to nick him!

He looks very drowsy and is rather out of it, have popped him into his cage to keep an eye over him for an hour then I will try him on the Science recovery.

Unforutunately for him though it seems that he will on going teeth problems as his jaw is out of allignement and therefore his teeth are not rubbing together properly causing them to overgrow and they believe that he will never be able to shut his mouth properly.

He's been out his cage and polished rather a large amount of Science recovery, he's absolutely clamming (hungry)

Update on Sweep,

It's been a difficult couple of days for us both as Sweep is still unable to eat though is trying so he's stil living off Science recovery, he was very weak on Saturday and could barely lift his head, I went out on Saturday and was convinced I would come in to find he had passed away, he has lost so much weight poor fella but today he seems brighter and moving around more, and leapt off the settee Sunday night while I was feeding him.

I have found that he is better been given small amount of Science recovery on a regular basis and I am adding Vit C to it as well (hence why I am up at this hour). He's such a lovely piggy :smitten: :smitten: and though he hates syringe feeding he will comply.

He's still got a long way to go and I know we are not out the woods yet but, I am hoping that with continued careful nursing he will make a good recovery.

Worried about Lily.

Hi you, so glad I've just joined here. My poor little guinea pig Lily is really ill at the moment too with a chest infection. She's on antibiotics and I'm suringe feeding her but she's so lethargic and just lays there. I'm so worried about her. I took her to the vets this morning. She's lost weight too. She's about 2 1/2 - 3yrs old and black and white with sticky up hair, she so friendly, loves her strokes and cuddles. so all of you on this forum please say a little guinea pig prayer that my little Lily gets better soon.

P.S Hope your little Sweep is doing well.

p.p.ps. Aren't guinea pigs the best little pet ever!
