What wormer and/or treatments are the best to use , When I got my two Clairelove put a combined one on, but I have not done them since so I presume they need doing again, what would I have to get.

Hi Ruth

We wormed our two about a couple months back due to Jules having lost a fair bit of weight with no real explanation. We used Xeno450 at that time and then we rewormed them about a month later only becasue Jules was starting to show symptoms again not of weight loss but of softer poops and Mo had a bad habit of sniffing his rear end and since then we haven't wormmed them again much to their delight :(|)

If you are having to buy big amounts [or anyone else] would it be possible for you to put some into smaller bottles and sell it to those of us with just a couple/few pigs.
Don't know wether that is possible, you could make a few quid on it and put it towards the rescue pigs.

It isn't something you could publicly advertise but logically it is the most, well, logical, thing to do.

I've been trying to find somewhere to buy panacur and ivomec but I'm getting a little bamboozled by the sheer amount of different products out there and I'm not sure which ones to get!

I've came across this one but it's for cats and dogs so I'm not sure if this is the correct one?
http://www.vetuk.co.uk/worming-prod...nacur-2-5-x-100ml-liquid-for-cats-dogs-p-1126

Then for ivermectin theres these two on this site

http://www.vetuk.co.uk/flea-product...xeno-450-6-pipettes-ivermectin-spot-on-p-1500

But when I search for ivomec through google it brings up loads of cattle products that are used as a wormer which I thought was what the panacur was for?

What am I supposed to get?! :{

thats what i do now i buy 25 bottle off ebay fill them up and ask £3 per bottle of ivomec pm me your address and i can send some to youxxx

:(|):(|) and theirs me publicly advertising itmalletheadmalletheadmallethead but only to friends;);)

injectable invomec for cattle is the one you need to get, but its not injected normally but only if their is burrowing hay mites/mites:)

So is that a wormer and also treats for mites, lice etc? I thought I needed two different things for that :{ ( sorry for sounding a bit thick, just want to make sure I understand what I'm doing! )

Claire, I won't lie, I've done the same in the past........ :))

Quick question for you, what bottles do you buy? I'm struggling to find bottles to dispense medicine into and have only found dropper bottle thus far. Was hoping to find some with the childproof lids but no luck so far!

Gems, worms rarely affect guinea pigs, the term worming is more accurately described as regular treatment/prevention against parasitic problems. The two different products just treat for different parasites, I believe; dosing with just Ivomec may miss some that Panacur would treat, and vice versa. Ivomec deals with the most common parasite, mites.

I treat my piggies every 3 months with Xeno 450 not sure if this is correct but i've never had any problems with any of them.
