Wordle - what is it?

Do you have to have a continuous combo? Not really sure what I’m doing, I get them all out but?
Yes there are several ways to play it, but the simplist way is to aim for an unbroken series of matches. That will be a 'perfect ' score. Yes you're right match the two yellow and white shapes and then move to the white and red shapes.

If you want to make it harder you attempt to find the longest or shortest possible number of matches. So for example the two boxes you've circled patch on two different variables not just one, which would be good if you want to aim for the lowest possible number of matches but you could just match the yellow and white shape or thr blue and black shape to get a continuous set of matches.

I just aim for a perfect score. That variation of the puzzle is one of the hardest BTW and I don't always get a perfect score

Will see tomorrow, the one today made my eyes shrink 😂

Yes, at least one object has to be matched with the same type in another square. Sometimes it can be tricky to see the outlines of the squares.
And then another object from that same square has to be matched. The circled area could be where you start, and then you can choose the other option indicated by the arrow and hop from each.
