Hello again.

Thank you all for your good wishes and support. It was so lovely and heart warming to read all your messages. I am now back home again and about halfway through the healing process of my half hip replacement.

What looked initially like straight forward case has turned into a truly life changing experience in so many different ways once the cause for the fall became obvious. And my first hospital stay in 55 years (I had my tonsils out as a child in Switzerland) has also held some huge surprises about myself.

I am planning to start a bit of a blog to tell more and hopefully enjoy your continuing support for my further journey but I would like to update that Macsen and Manon are with @Qualcast&Flymo - I can't thank you enough for your prompt hands-on local practical support. Hub could not have managed without you while I was in hospital.

Merlin and Sulwen have yesterday made the journey to @furryfriends (TEAS) in Northampton where they will spend Christmas and will hopefully return - finally - as a bonded pair. Again, I am so grateful; it will mean one less cage to clean.

@Qualcast&Flymo has also been instrumental in putting us through the local grapevine in contact with a local family who is willing to help us with a weekly cage clean while hub and I are both struggling with mobility. I met them today. She's animal mad.

We are finally starting to get a leg on deck while sorting out so many things to adjust to the necessary changes. The important thing is that all piggies are still alive although I need to see the vet with a couple later this week.

Since I am still very weak and exhausted (even though I am doing my best to ace the class in terms of recovery), I have to take it all very slowly and prioritise my own needs so forum attendance is going to somewhat patchy and haphazard but as things settle and improve I can hopefully do that bit more every single day and be more in control of my body and everyday life again. Just being able to come on here is such boost after spending the last three weeks in a kind of parallel reality.

Dear Wiebke, thankyou for updating us and I'm pleased to hear you are recovering. Slow and steady wins the race and you're absolutely right to prioritse your and your family's needs over the forum! Don't forget we still have your wise guides and previous messages to help us while you focus on your recovery. All the best to you x

Thank you for your update Wiebke and glad to hear you're gradually regaining strength etc.

It's great that Merlin and Sulwen have been able to go to TEAS, I hope they eventually come home a happy couple, and I'm very happy that the petsitter local to you seems to be the right person for the job as both my direct contacts got nowhere. I may even use her myself when I have my own piggies again!

Macsen and Manon say "hallo Wiebke, we miss you 😘😘". They're both doing well and a lot less nervous than they were to start with. I hope I'm not getting them in to bad habits! 20241210_233528.webp

So lovely to hear from you Wiebke. And to hear of the lovely support you’ve received from @Qualcast&Flymo . Not all heroes wear capes, as the saying goes.
Just take each day as it comes and prioritise your own Heath and wellbeing. Time to put yourself first xx

So lovely to hear from you. So glad you are on the road to recovery, please take your time to heal.
Great to hear you have found someone to help with the piggies, sure it will make a big difference.
Sending you massive hugs and lots of healing vibes.x💕💕

Lovely to hear from you @Wiebke. I’m so pleased things are heading in the right direction. I can’t wait for the blog as I’m really nosy and want to hear all the details. Take care and don’t rush your recovery.

Brace yourself! It's decidedly not for the faint-hearted.
