I used to use medibed choped straw but have decided to now use vet bed. I purchased some today. Hopefully will arrive in the next couple of days. who else uses it and what do you think?

i use betsbeds and think its fab. i first used woodshavings then changed cos of it not being any good for piggies to megazorb and twels adn now i use vet beds. so quick and easy to use and they stay dry.

I always wonder about vet bed where do you get them from it would make cleaning a CC cage easier

well i haven`t tried it yet, but my problem is keeping the cage and piggies dry and when the straw gets wet poops aren`t easy to scoop out cos they all stick to the hay so you have to renew it all, as far as i have heard vet bed keeps eveything dry so poops can be easily scooped out and then the whole thing is then washed when needed, i have bought two pieces so when one is being washed the other is in the cage X

i get my vetbeds from ebay. if you want to know the person i use let me know. basically with vetbeds the urine soaks through to the underneath, leaving the top dry. so its best to have newspaper. poo is definitely easier to pick up too. Vets recommend these.

sounds great, i oredered my vet bed from someone on ebay, might be the same peson, should get it over the next day or two x can`t wait

the person on ebay does big rols to of vet beds that you cut up thats what i did

Vet bed is amazing! It's so 100% much more easier and so lovely and comfy for the piggies. All you need to do is pop it in the wash every 2-3 days and while it's in the wash, replace it with another one and then when that one needs to be washed, replace it with the washed one, etc!

Everyday you can hover the poop's out while your piggies are out playing and it should be cleaned every 2-3 days. I use vetbed for every one of my piggies.

It is also completely safe unlike beddings like Pine Woodshavings, Woodshavings alone of any brand, straw, etc!

Livie x

thanks for letting us know, i feel much more confident about using it now.... can`t wait til it arrives X

Does hay stick to the vetbed really badly though? I tried fleece once and that was a BIG mistake, I was constantly out in the back garden shaking it off and picking at bits of hay forever ::) I just don't want to clog my washing machine up, lol.

Somebody at my mum's work used VetBed for his rats and said that all they did was eat it. Has anybody had any problems with guinea pigs eating it?

vet bed arrived today and loots great, very thick, so i will be cutting it all to size tonight. My cat has been eyeing it up to so i`m sure i will have enough left over to give him a piece to lie on X

Aww, how sweet! Well I put my hay in a guinea pig corner, large litter tray (empty with no litter of course since I don't use litter) filled with hay. But make sure it is large and the piggy has access to it at all times.

well my first night of vet bed has passed... cage messy this morning as usual, however at least you can see it on vet bed, no hidden poops in straw.... five minutes later it was clean, scooped out every poop and the bedding is dry, brilliant, this is gonna be much easier and my more hygenic for my piggy`s X

Lynn, You are making me want get save up for vet beds for my guineas keep the testing info coming ;D

Hi - I've experimented with vetbed (bought quite reasonably from the atafur seller on ebay). The problem I found was that the hay really stuck to it and was difficult to get off. It didn't matter what container I put the hay in, the wheekers still managed to spread it all around! ::) It became a bit of a problem as it clogged up the filter on our washing machine - oops! So we have reverted back to good old hay and paper which the piggies seem to love. I do think that vet bed is great stuff though. Now we put it in paper-lined shallow fruit boxes when the piggies have their floor time so they can jump in and out and go to the loo in there. They love it - although Beryl prefers hiding underneath the vet bed (bless)!

tahs a good idea. I used my leftovers for in my run. I have one in the garage as its so cold outside. You wont regret buying them its so easy. It only take sme 15 minutes now to thoroughly clean my hutch normally took 30 mins.

well ,loving the vet bet, i use a cat litter scoop to remove poops every morning and night and when it`s time to change the bedding i find that the brush from a dustpan and brush removes all the hay, just pop it in the washing machine (no mess in machine) and it`s dry in a couple of hours...give it a brush and it`s ready to use...fantastic stuff i love it x
