What To Put Under Liner

I've found towels get soggy far too quickly, but that's probably because I only have two that don't go on top of each other. Should I put puppy pads under too? I'm sure there's a better way to stop my liner getting dirty and wet so quickly

I believe you can use them washable puppy pads. There's also zorb

Mattress pads, zorb is expensive (checked it up when my Mum started making liners), puppy pads, terry towels. Mattress pads worked really well for me before I switched to liners

Thanks! The thing is though, you said before I switched to liners, so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here as the thing I'm using is a liner?

Ermm where does it tend to get wet the most?

Probably in the corner near the hay rack and inside their houses. My carpet's also becoming a right state as they keep weeing on some places and newspaper doesn't seem to be working well.

We have a cage that my son changes the liner in every two days, girls are 2 - 3, the rest are 3. Some days it dead wet, some days just damp.

You might be better off without any newspaper. It can make everything else damp as it stays damp itself

Well what I did with their houses was get a puppy pad and cover it in fleece and that would be changed when needed, sometimes daily sometimes 2 days, as for the corner you could always try a litter tray there?

I should think the cage liners itself will be alright

I think she puts newspaper on her carpet? I would use something like folded towels in the area they pee.

Thanks I do put newspaper under the hay rack on the floor as it's quick to change, but it gets too much so I'll just use towels there when I get some. With the vet bills I might have to wait a few days

Also any clue what to put in the tray? They'll wee in it a lot.

some sort of cat litter I think? @artcasper might be able to tell you, I'm sure she uses cat litter. Some use that finacard as well, paper pellets etc. anything safe.

You can get towels fairly cheap, you would only need a small one I'd have a few though so you can have one in while the other washes

But towels are really expensive in my area. I can't find any charity shops that sell any either so I'm not sure what to do.

Asda had big bath towels in the sale yesterday for £3 each. Charity shops often keep towels in the back for dogs, it's worth asking. I got some lovely towels for the piggies at a car boot sale 50p each.
