What is happening to me?

found this on the internet, although it sounds horrible i think it's only like getting nits at school.....

"Body lice cause pruritus; signs are small red puncta caused by bites, usually associated with linear scratch marks, urticaria, or superficial bacterial infection. These findings are especially common on the shoulders, buttocks, and abdomen"

Hope I haven't offended you, just thought that it seemed to describe what your scratches look like :-\

Are you stressed a lot more than usual cause of the exams and everything else?
Hope you're feeling a little better by now :-*
Nothing worse than that feeling of ithing that's like under your skin and you can't even get to it :(
Gee i hope you can get some antihistamines into you to help :-* :-*

It doesn't sound like what I have got. Will be going to the doctors after 12 and will let you know what they say - had a couple more come up over night.

:( poor dear... they look like piggie scratches hey...but thats weird how they just appear!
Good luck at the doctors :)

are you sure you not got a piggy hidden up your jumper? :D what the verdict are you stricken with parrots disease or poltigist? and how did your exam go ?

This is going to sound weird but bare with me, Have you managed to get a hay dart in your clothes, or have you got a feather cushion, duvet or bed pillows both of these things cause Major bad scratches and deep,

The reason i said this is that both of these things have scratched me and they looked like that, the hay dart was a real pain, had it in trouser leg behind the knee where i had fallen in the hay ;D another story >:D and boy did it hurt,

So what do you think?

Well, I showed the doctor and she asked me if I have been getting bad skin recently. Ever since I was little, I have had really good skin but since September, I have had little spots like dry skin/eczemea on my forehead and like I said in another thread, when I had been coming out the shower, I was getting eczema patches all over my body. I told her this and she asked me what body wash I use in shower. I said it wasn't that as I been using this 1 for ages. She then said she was prescribing me a body wash to calm down my skin and said to put some hydrocortisone ointment on them. I told her I had run out of that (using it on the patch on my forehead) and said it hadn't cleared up. She looked at it and told me I have acne (which was lovely to hear) and prescribed an acne cream for me.

So... basically I still don't know what it is or why it keeps happening. All I learnt by going to the docs is that I have acne! (I have 1 spot on my forehead and faint red tiny patch so I wouldn't have really called it acne! lol)

i guess thats better than something really bad. i hope you feel better soon O0

its weird that Sars can scratch herself raw sometimes in the night and not know about it when she gets her eczema

When i was younger i had excsema cause i never dried my hands after washing them (i thought it made them dirtier 98))
so my hands dried up and the skin cracked, and my hands looked like an old mans. i hated it so much. i still wont dry my hands with tea towels because i think they'll make my hands dirty, old habits die hard! i remeber using this cream that was so big it lasted for 2 years, i was amazed, it got 'lost' eventually by me 'accidently', before it was even half way!

Well guess what... it came back today!

It makes my whole body feel all sensitive and weird - the scratches really hurt too....

I just want to know what the hell it is - I am going to the doctors at 5:20pm - she didnt even tell me what she thought it was last time.

are you sure you haven't got a ghost in the house trying to get your attention? Don't want to freak you out but have seen this before on a programme. scratches just can't appear like that can they?

Ive seen that before too :-\

Its really horrible - could be stress related? - I don't know! I have had enough of them coming up - like I said, they hurt and my whole body feels really sensitive.

You have been going through a bit lately hun. And last time they came up, you were going through a pretty rough time.

I agree with Kelly its got to be stress related, so cut out all your stress you dont need it , I think its your bodys reaction to a raise in your stress levels, make sure you tell your DR what you've been going through recently so shes got a good idea what to do for you, my old Gp once told me anything thats upsetting you making you unhappy or ill get rid of it, so I got rid of my mother in law (nah not like that) we moved away from her influences, my stomach probs disapeared let us now how you get on! ;)

The nurse said she did not think it was stress related.  She said if it was, it would have come up in a blotches, not scratches.

Well.. she said she is completely mystified too and never seen anything like it in her life.  She has told me to take antihistamine and apply hydricortisone on it for now - she said if I get more, to go and see 1 of the doctors at the practice that knows more about rashes.  She just couldn't believe them at all and said they were def like scratches - she also said she holds her hands up to the fact she really doesn't know what it could be. She asked what last doctor said and I said she didn't tell me and she said that the doctor I saw doesn't know loads about skin problems so perhaps she didn't know either.

She said she doesn't think its contagious and that she doesn't think its scabies (thank god!) - Looks like for now I will just have to put up with them!

I was just thinking that allergies tend to cause blotches or hives and those do look a lot like scratches. How strange. Do the creams work at all?

Ellie consider the stress you are under with everything maybe you are scratching yourself with out realising it,
I dont like to think the ghostly explanations could be the reason :o

sometimes I scratch myself without noticing... if you walk past a sharp corner you might not feel it but it may leave some marks... I think its stress... not ghosts...
