Hi everyone. Ginger is still not drinking but eating and fine and is happy to be syringed. Hope all your guineas are doing well. Thanks for all the kind words and support. I'll set an account and hopefully you cansee my guinea tomorrow :)

Hope this works - a picture of Ginger IMG]https://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn126/rw3399/Photosonphone011.jpg[/IMG]

I think I've found out why Ginger isn't drinking. I think she's got bloat :( I looked on Peter Gurney's wesbite and the symptoms are the same as having loads of trapped air so I've tried the Rennie like he says and fingers crossed, it will work. Has anyone else had problems with trapped air in their guinea?

Hiya,

Hope you don't mind I sorted the link out to display the pics.

Is she looking a little tubbier around her stomach area? Some pigs don't drink at all. Is she eating ok? If it were to be bloat they wouldn't eat?

She is lovely. x

Thanks for sorting out the link. She is eating, just concerned because normally she drinksquite a bit, and yes she is looking podgy! How's your guinea?

Ah right, well you are doing right by keeping an eye on her. :)

Well I have 9 here at the moment and 2 fosters they are all sleeping off their lunch except Twinkle who is in the living room watching Sky News! ;D

I think I'd be in heaven with 11 guineas but i do have 2 cats as well. They get jealous when I spend so much time with my guinea ::)

I have given her a Rennie crushed in water and 'played the piano' on her belly but no change. Maybe I'm wrong anf she's just porky :-\

You know she could be just a bit tubby. Here is my Sow Fleur she always looks pregnant but isn't! ;D

Yeah Ginger looks a bit like but more swollen on the side where her leg doesn't work. When I took her to the vet (the one who said to put her down) she said that she looked a bit bloated and I agreed. She did not examine her or suggest anything apart from putting her down., She said she thought there was something nasty going on inside her. What use is that? 2 months later she is still here so do I listen to that vet? I'm so confused :tickedoff: I think I might leave out the veg/fruit and just give dry food and hay, and syringe water.
