That's great I'm glad you had some positive interaction with Percy :)
My boar trio were fine for about 4 months, then started squabbling, then after about 6 months together (they would have been 8 months old) had a massive fight so I had to adopt a friend for Jack.

I think I would freak if mine didn't get along. I had 2 wee dwarf hamsters before and the first time i saw them fight I was so worried I went straight out and bought a brand new separate cage! I don't have room in my house for 2 piggie cages :(

Thanks! @Goth Mummy @ayemee I would have considered it if it had a high success rate.

I had the pigs out just now, separately on the sofa, no petting with the tv down low and talking to them. Pig was unimpressed and just sat there waiting to be put back in his cage but Percy seemed to quite enjoy being left on his own and explored the sofa and then Sat beside me for a while. He even popped into my jumper sleeve a few times for a burrow :yahoo:

Glad it went well for all of you. This sounds like my two, Fudge sits just looking about and Biscuit climbs and explores everything!

I don't feel like I can give advice because I've only been a pig mum for a little over 10 weeks but please keep trying with them, they love you in their own way. I know how you feel regarding your first post. I had an almighty wobble yesterday, when Biscuit bit me (now have a lovely bruise on my arm from it) I don't remember doing anything she doesn't like and it was no different to any other day. It hurt so much I quickly put her back in in her pen & had a little cry, thinking she hates me!

@Sar any advice is appreciated! I think I was just feeling really like a poop scooper and food bringer and it was a bit disheartening. Since my first post I have made progress, whether it's because I'm seeing things a bit differently or they are actually different, I'm unsure. I had them out for floortime and sat on the floor with them. I was working on a project so was writing in a notebook and not fussing over them. Next thing, nibble nibble, Percy is over munching on my pages and Pig is sitting by my knee and then the 2 are running around me like I'm a giant hidey :)

So my theory with my pigs - same as with men - ignore them and they will come running!

Your pig doesn't hate you - maybe your pig was trying to tell you in its pig talk that you were doing something she didn't like but you didn't notice or understand and then she panicked and nipped you. Or maybe she was having an 'off' day. They can be grumpy wee beggers too! It's not nice to happen though, Pig always nips when he's sitting on my knee too long and it bloody hurts! I want to scold him like a naughty child!

Are they okay once you've picked them up and got them out?

Amber HATES being picked up, and runs around her cage to try and escape capture, but after she's been out for a few minuets she's fine. I agree with coco&Luna though some guinea pigs are more timid than others really.

Haha this is Pete, we get at least one scream from him during the pick up stage but the second he's on your lap he turns around til he finds the most comfortable way to face while curled up so you can stroke him and he squeaks away.

We have Bumble who is much more timid as well and while I have bonded with her and she trusts me she will not eat while you are watching and neither does she like to come out for laptime unless there's another pig she can hide behind.

As said pigs come with such a wide range of pigsonalities but also they are natures prey animal so bare in mind they won't generally like being picked up. You could use little cosy pouches to huddle them into to make it less stressful picking them up and see if that helps at all.

Biscuit pig talks a lot. She's currently chortling away to herself next to the tunnel (where Fudge is in residence). I think that day was an an off day as she's been fine since and we had a lovely cuddle yesterday, she actually sat still for once!

Lady Kelly, I love the word 'pigsonalities'!

My two are bonkers too. Freckles is timid and runs off if I approach the cage but once caught he loves to stay put and be stroked - he seems to love that!
But Spud is more confident, will sit while I scratch his head while he is in the cage but once lifted he squeals and whinges till he's put back in the cage - though he settles for a bit on my lap if I sing to him which is weird! Think he is just wondering what on earth I am doing!
