At the moment, I have newspaper in mine and I think a few choice words will be used when trying to clean it out.

What can i use instead of newspaper to make things easier for me to clean out?

I have seen in the states, they have the fleece things but I dont know if you can get them over here and if they are any good?

Any advise would be awesome :)

I use anti-pill fleece, you need a few layers of towels under it and to be changed every 3-4 days. Do you mean fleece flippers, yes, sadly only shipped in the US.

Do yours use litter trays?! I would love flippy to do it

I have an alternative to a c&c cage, but I use puppy pads, towels then fleece on top. I also have lap pads and a litter tray to keep the hay in one place (or try to anyways)

What are the flippy things only available in the States? I'm intregied. We use puppy pads, towels then fleece on top. I have put a litter tray in the hay loft with Fitch in it and hay on top. To keep the hay more contained rather than in hope of keeping all the poo in one place!

I'm sure they can be bought else where in the UK, but only US from guinea pig cages store.

I don't quite get where the wee goes if they have a solid inner core. It says they are taut so wick better but wick to where?
The closest thing I can think of in the UK is the fleece liners made by CandE Cosies with zorb inner. You could buy multiple 2x1 ones of those and that would achieve the same thing in all respects except that they don't have a solid core so brushing may be harder than with these US ones.

If the covers remove for washing, I wonder exactly how taut they stay?

Very interesting though. Thanks!

I have no idea, I don't use them, so I cannot explain how they work. lol

Judging from that inner picture, they have an absorbent layer under the fleece so that's where the wee goes. It does look like they could be made - poss correx in the middle, wrap absorbent layer round then Fleece round that.
I wouldn't want to flip them over though - the wet side would stink still! I can see the benefit of being able to brush/vac a taut surface though and the benefit of just being able to replace the wet "panels".

I really think using fleece normally would be more hygienic, and they're expensive, with correx in the middle, they don't look anything special to me.

It would be better to just have a frame, but your right, it is a gimmick. You could make your own easy. I am not a fan of fleece anyway.

most wees and poos end up in there. Still have to sweep up poos and get odd wees but means I only have to change smaller bits of fleece and towels every other day than full change. There is a fleece pegged over the cage and hay rack over the litter tray. They do push the tray out now and then and wee there so have double towel layer then fleece.Whole cage has a ground sheet then towels then main fleece.Have smaller bits of towel then fleece (double in corner behind litter tray)at each end.My litter trays have thick layer of newspaper then finacard then meadow hay.I put Timothy hay and orchard hay in their hay racks

Hi guys, the Flippers which are made in America are indeed fleece outers, with Uhaul blanket material underneath to act as an absorbent layer and correx in the middle. We did contemplate making a similar thing ourselves but felt that it wouldn't be worth it. As has already been suggested, if your piggies wee in a certain area then dissect the cage with normal liners. As an example, your piggies always wee down one end of a 2x4 C&C Cage: Buy 1x2 and 2x3 liners and put the 1x2 at the end that they wee a lot so you only have to change that on a regular basis.

As has been mentioned, we make liners with Zorb in the middle which is a fantastic material for soaking up any liquid, for being washable and also for not smelling. It if highly used in the making of nappies which highlights how good it is at absorbing liquid.

I've got 2 sets of your liners with zorb in them and they are fantastic. They are well made, the fleece is good quality and the zorb really does work well. After 3 days, when I change them they are still dry to touch and the towels I put underneath are dry too. I have unfortunately managed to shrink mine a bit because, against the instructions they came with from you, I washed them once at 60 degrees (had had a fungal outbreak).

Notwithstanding that, I still love them. I have another cage which I use just a cheap fleece from the Range in. That works fine but when I have saved up enough pennies I will be back!

my husband and I are currently building our own guinea cage. I want a fleece liner for the cage but as it's bigger than the standard cages am wondering if it would be cheaper to make our own?

Yes, it would probably be cheaper to make your own.

I have two pairs of piggies, each living in 3 X 5 C and C cages. The floor has three fleece liners of 2 X 5 size on the floor. I wash one fleece at a time, as I can only get one in my machine, and I have one spare. My fleece liners were made to measure by Ziggy at ziggyspiggies.co.uk. £90 for four inc p+p. As there are only two piggies on each fleece, they take a long time to get dirty and then I just turn them over.
