i have a short haired crested!i have a soft spot for crested short haired, agoutis and teddy’s. That’s what I haveI wouldn’t turn down other breeds like Himalayan or Abyssinian, but would be cautious about a long haired and skinny. Only because they need a lot more care. And skinnies are quite ‘high maintenance’ from what people have said on here.
PS I got boars first but didn’t know one was an agouti till people made comments about himSo they chose me because of who they were rather than the breed ☺
Abyssinians are my number one breed too, and they are cheekier and NOISIER than most others! I also love the smooth coats, esp the natural looking colours like agouti. I prefer all my animals to be as natural as possible with no man made exaggerations, hence I don't support the idea of producing rodents (that often live in hutches outside as somewhat neglected pets,) with masses of long hair or worse still, no hair at all! I'm seeing a lot of brindle Abys nowadays which was a new colour to me and they are very striking.I like all pets but with guinea pigs, if I had every breed in front of me on a table, and I had to pick one to pair up with a current one, Id pick Aby everytime. Don't need grooming but look pretty wacky and seem to be very cheeky pigs. But that's just probably cause mine all have been
