Weird sounds at night

My guinea pig recently started making noise in the middle of the night, however that’s usual for them. But suddenly this past week I’ve been awoken by a loud chirping. It’s a quick I high pitched chirp over and over. It just started happening and it’s never happened before. It’s different from the sounds they make when they are excited or happy. Thanks

Guinea pigs can chirp like birds; it often happens at night. Because it is so irregular and comparatively rare, we don't have yet an satisfactory explanation.

I’ve got chirping pig(s) i day that because I’ve only ever caught one of the boys in the act, so can’t say if the other one also did it. A rare thing indeed, we are blessed to experience it...even though first time I was scared to go downstairs and check for the bird that was trapped inside
