Our new Facebook page isn't getting many likes and I really feel that TEAS could very quickly cease to exist, unless we can either get the old page back, or get some proper engagement on the new page. I recently appealed for help with our February vet bill that was just under 2 grand and in the past, when we could post on our page that had over 6.5k followers, we would get a decent amount of help towards such as hefty bill, this time, with only a handful of followers, we barely got any help. This was okay, as we had enough money to cover it, but I now fear that we are going to run out, if we continue to lose support. I am taking in 6 more guinea pigs on Saturday, and in the current cost of living crisis, we are being called upon more and more to help. Facebook are still ignoring all our emails and despite us filing a copyright infringement complaint, which they are legally obliged to respond to, they have still ignored us. We really need to get a solicitor on the case, but that is going to be expensive and if we run out of money, then we are totally doomed and so are all the piggies. I barely slept last night worrying about all of this!

Please can you all share our new page with friends, or if you use any guinea pig Facebook pages, post the link on there.

Oh Debbie, this is such a shame, all because someone corrupted your fb page. I can send some fleeces off for you if that helps, sorry my donation wasn’t much, I’m skint atm

Thank you, that would be amazing! We have worked so hard over the past 12 years, just for someone to wipe it all out and lose our connection with so many people. Without that connection TEAS can't go on! I can't fund it myself.

I don’t the understand the algorithms of fb but if you “like” all your replies from people will this increase “footfall” as such and also keep a record of people that are viewing your new site?
It seems the more people like and view a site the more that site comes up front. I haven’t seen your site appear like it used to since this corruption of the original site happened. Is there any way you can view your old followers and link up with them with your you site?

No we’ve lost them now as we can’t access the page to get their details! 😢
 
I've followed the new page, don't think I followed the old page. I do normally donation on another page that's up for TEAS
 
Could you ask other guinea pig Facebook groups to share it? Or even some of the vets to share it on their accounts?
Do you have a local community group it could be shared with too?
I hope things will start improving soon. Xx
 
I don't do social media but can you message me so I can donate. I'm afraid it won't be much but I hope it will help.
 
It's ridiculous, all the info on the page is yours, can't they accept your usage/ownership of the website/phone number, address etc as proof of identity and ownership of the fb page?
What the **** are all these thousands of employees of facebook doing all the day, that they can't sort out problems and reply to emails? These tech companies are hopeless at customer support cos all they care about is the money 🤬🤬😬
 
Debbie, I've just been watching the One Show and something similar happened to someone else and they were just normal people and not a charity. They didn't get anywhere either until they reported it to Watchdog. Then Facebook gave them the ownership back of their FB page. Why don't you go to the media about this? It certainly can't hurt. It will also give you much needed media exposure and then hopefully the pennies will come rolling in.

That sounds like a great idea! We have a “Service and Complaints” section on the Local BBC news (South West) once a week where people write in about problems they are having with companies, refund etc and it certainly works.

Will get the tunnels off at the end of the week Debbie x

I’m so busy with my business and my studies at the moment and going to the media is going to need my time. The event is in two weeks and Easter is my busiest petsitting time. I’m struggling with trying to sort all this on my own! 😢

I’m taking some holiday in a few weeks so maybe I’ll have time then. It could be the way forward. There’s just not enough hours in the day. I’ve only just got home now and still need to sort dinner xx

Just finished work and arrived home. I now need to sort some dinner. Didn’t get any coursework done today! 😔

We are trying a few more things with Facebook and then if no joy, I’ll use my holiday to engage with the media. I’m off from the 14th April but then at The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors conference!
