Washing machine recommendations

Ours doesn’t have a jeans cycle :( It has a baby setting which I’d hoped might use more water but it didn’t unfortunately, just more mini rinses.

We’ve been experimenting and if we add any detergent at all, even watered down before (we did one teaspoon in 1 litre of water) it doesn’t rinse it out properly.

Just trying it with vinegar now instead of detergent hoping that will work better? It’s just two bath mats in there, rinsed first to wet it, 60ml vinegar with an extra 2 litres of water added. See what happens.

I’ve found lots more people online saying the same about other machines too so I’m worried they’ll all be the same. Seems people are adding a bucket full or washing up bowl full of extra water so about 10 litres for a normal load size.

It’s ridiculous.

I can honestly say I haven't seen much about machines not being good enough at cleaning but then I kick around cloth nappy groups and some of the cleaning comes from having a sufficiently full enough machine with lots of small items so agitation helps with cleaning. Keep an eye on the January sales especially with Bosch as I assume our machine isn't their only version that you can set to use more water
