Can anyone recommend a decent 7kg washing machine please?

Currently have a Samsung Ecobubble and HATE it so much!

Thanks :)

I have tried a lot of makes over the years, some only lasted until the guarantee ran out. I love BOSH, I know they are expensive but I had one for 17 years and it was our rubbish plumbing that damaged it in the end. Have gone back to BOSH this time.

I'm using a Hotpoint 7kg machine at the moment and it's been a solid machine since it went in, though considering what it replaced that wasn't a high bar lol. I'll have to look up the model number though because of course it's not on the exterior of the machine.

Those two makes were the ones I was looking at but I really don’t want to make another expensive mistake like the Samsung piece of junk!

Sorry, I hate looking things up on my phone - this is what I have: https://www.hotpoint.co.uk/hotpoint...kg-front-load-washing-machine-white-f163731/p

I was about to recommend mine... but it's a Samsung Ecobubble, apparently! Not sure what flavour as I can't find the receipt and we've had it for years already. What issues are you having with yours?

My old washing machine was a Samsung Ecobubble and I was so impressed with it that when it went to the Washing Machine Heaven I bought another Samsung Ecobubble and this one is just as good. I'll probably go for Bosch next (Don't waste your money on a Siemens as they are just a posh Bosch Son No 3 told me that) as Son No 3 did his year's Internship at Bosch and will be able to advise me on which one to purchase.

Everything really. Super short hose so we had to extend our pipe at extra cost, it washes so poorly because it uses such a small amount of water. Everything comes out so rough and worn. The rinse is very very poor again because there’s not enough water. It’s always unbalanced too. The drawer isn’t straight so it rattles. Needs drum cleans all the time. The filter is easy to do though so that’s one thing I guess :)) but other than that, we hate it!

Maybe I got a dud because I’ve seen some great reviews which is why I bought it in the first place. Ours really is awful though.

I’ve got the Samsung Ecobubble and I’ve been very happy with it! I find it washes really well and is fairly quiet. It’s got a really long warranty too. Maybe you should contact Samsung.

Thanks @BossHogg, figured it might be. @Spaniel it's an NSWR 743U week UK N, and it's the first Hotpoint link on Google. Why they can't use decent model numbers or not break their links I don't know, sorry about that.

We recently upgraded from an LG to a Bosch. We have a washer dryer due to using cloth nappies and generally having a ton of washing to do all the time. It's amazing and we didn't realise how bad our LG had got until we got the new one. It was expensive but I can set favourites and control from my phone (which is handy when I realise I have forgotten to set the nappy wash overnight). I can also set additional rinses to run immediately after the main cycle without touching the machine again and set for extra water to be used during the cycle as many machines now try to use less water (which is good but not when you want an intensive wash on cloth nappies)

@MattW I had to manually add the URL tags, the software usually does it automatically.

That's the one! Thanks again @BossHogg, no idea why I couldn't find the right link. Edit: I couldn't get it to add the URL tags on my end either.

This is the main problem. We need lots of water for pet bedding and my partner. Her eczema has gone crazy since we got this machine. A lot of the time we have to wash in small loads, wet it first and then do a whole extra cycle after the main one just to try and rinse it as much as we need to. We bought it mainly because you can choose up to 5 rinses but they’re short mini rinses with barely any water so not enough.

You can definitely get machines that allow a water boost. It's the one downside of the ecobubble that I read a lot of on the cloth nappy groups. Our machine also has a foam detection thing too so if I end up putting a little too much powder in it will do an extra rinse to get rid of the extra foam.

Does anyone know a way to trick the machine into using more water? Just tried washing two new pieces of vet bed but they’ve come out sticky and so rough. I wet them first and used the cotton cycle that is meant to adjust the amount of water based on what’s in there, but I guess vet bed isn’t cotton so it’ll estimate it too low? Seems to happen on every setting though. It’s so hard to wash items that are light but heavy when wet that need lots of water.

Any ideas?
Can’t replace the machine until next year unfortunately.

How much water do you add yourselves? Do you do that on just the wash or the rinses as well?

I too add more water with a jug, a couple of litres. Normal rinse though I tend to do fleeces etc on a jeans cycle which uses more water anyway.
