I;m going to book Range & Rover to the vets for a check up, any idea how much this will be>? also can anyone recommend a good vet in and around Croydon or Surrey?

Our vet is about £24 per checkup, rather a lot. I don't know Croydon at all, sorry.

Veterinary consultation fees do vary quite a lot, but I've noticed the average is aroundabout £20. Whether the vet charges to examine an additional pig at the same appointment is also down to the individual...I had the misfortune of seeing a vet a few years back who charged £7.50 per extra pig!

Vets in Surrey - I have heard fantastic things over the last few years about Anne Taylor at O'Meara Veterinary Surgery in Ewell, and apparently another vet there, Andy, is good with guineas too. Their number is 02083 936049.

Sorry no help in your area but my vets it's a national renouned exotic vets and they charge £26.

You're really lucky that you live so close to this Vets! I travel around a 100 mile round trip to take my guinea pig to Anne Taylor (on the recommendation of this Forum) and I've heard that lots of people travel much much further than me! I've only been a few times so far but would definitely recommend Anne.

Btw I'm pretty sure Andy doesn't work there anymore and the Vets has recently changed name to Goddard Veterinary Group. Anne usually works from the Ewell clinic (and she only works Mon-Weds, with the occasional Saturday morning) but they also have branches in Epsom Downs & Chessington. I'd make sure you see Anne though, as she's known for her expertise with guineas.
