Around me they vary £10 upto £17....

I have 2 I really like, one charges £11 app but is 20 miles away :(, the other £13 app and just up the road. Both are ace with GP care, really savy! O0

It really does seem to vary from area to area. But if you havent already do check that your vet knows about piggies before you pay silly amounts for a check up.
I went to a vet once to get some ivomec for mites she first of all didnt like the fact that i had already diagnosed the problem and secondly got shirty because I had to keep telling her it was a guinea pig NOT a hamster. Then she charged me over £25!
So worth a call just to check that they have a piggy vet on board!

I remember a vet in London once charged me £25 to consult a book and then tell me that he had no idea what the bald patches on my hamsters sides were - I worked out for myself afterwards that they were his scent glands! (City Vets on Mile End Road I think.. - useless!)

I paid £15 for a consultation fee today.

I paid £118 on Saturday night for an emergency vet consult! I did think it would be expensive but was still a bit shocked when I heard the price!

Our consultation is £14 and in one visit paid £40 for consult two injections and a course batryil for us to give him.

if its only a quick consultation they don't charge also when they made some minor errors they gave us the new meds for free

We also take our pigs in together and they look over both of them for us for £14 so its pretty good, and also if things get really strange the Royal Vet College is down the road from there and they have a small furry specialist that comes in on saturdays so i like to believe we have all areas covered, they were even good enough to work hard on providing a good life for my hamster who was like really old and lost all his fur. He was funny like a little prune.

well I took Amber back for her check up and it cost me £7 which I was happy with. Also I have picked a leaflet up about out of hours service and our local PDSA clinic now cover this area for out of hour emergencies and it would appear they are doing this all across the country, its great for me as they are not too far away :) :)
