Does anyone give their pigs urinary biscuits? Just thinking because Mr G is prone to UTI’s that he should give them a try.

These tend to be a bit of a marketing gimmick for what is basically a dietary supplement.
A UTI is caused by bacteria, and there is no sure fire preventative treatment for bacterial infections.
The most important steps to prevent them is good cage hygiene and a balanced diet which I will link to below.

Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

Sometimes pigs who don't drink a lot can seem to get UTI's more often, so encourage water intake by rinsing all veg in filtered water before feeding.
I also found mine drank more if I offered two different types of water bottle - some seemed to prefer glass, but maybe my lot are just divas!

:agr: completely.

As mentioned a UTI is caused by bacteria getting into the urinary tract. A supplement is not going to stop that from happening.
Best to focus on a good diet and good hygiene

I use the oxbow urinary support ones, and also their joint support ones for my old boy. Essentially I use them for their glucosamine content - it is a food supplement useful for supporting both battered bladders and arthritic joints. They are not a preventative for UTI though. Sometimes a repeated infection hot on the heels of a previous one can just mean that a longer course of antibiotics was required in the first place. Is Mr G an older boy? Sometimes they can get a bit of an impaction problem and that can make them more prone to UTI. Or if he has a problem with sludgy pee (leaving thick white calcium marks) he might be struggling to get a good flow going which would normally flush out bacteria.
