your poor piggie. Please give him a kiss from me.
And, as the others have said - welcome!
looking forward to chatting to you about happier things!

So glad you spoke with Vedra and you are seeing a decent vet who has knowledge on Guinea pigs. Hope all is well. Lets us know.

Hello - I'm very sad to tell you all, that Rodders died on Friday afternoon, and, bless him, his little roommate wouldnt leave his side, even then. He went so quickly we are so shocked, and miss him so much. I've only had them for not even 2 months, and I am so fond of them already. The vet said that its always a surprise to find them and rabbits alive in the mornings, rather than the other way around, as they die so quickly if they have an illness. She also said that 5 plus is a good age. Anyway, hes healthy and happy now, so I'll just look forward to seeing him again one day.
Thank you all for such support, and good wishes

love to you all and your little piggies xx

Oh Sally, I am so very sorry to hear that. There is nothing I can say to make it feel better, but we are all here for you if you need to talk. Huge hugs xx

Oh Sally, I'm so sorry to hear about Rodders. YOu done all you could for him.
Run free at the bridge little man. :'(

so sorry to hear your sad news about Rodders , I too lost a pig, on sunday Demon was dead in his run still warm, and he was'nt ill before what ever it was happened fast, so he is probably running about with Rodders , God bless them both hope you are feeling ok, In know its hard but it only hurts because we care so much, hows his hutch mate doing ? I had to pair Demons mate scrappy up with another pig scooby 2 they seem fine and have settled together, you tried very hard for Rodders so you should be proud of yourself

Oh i'm so sorry to hear your piggy lost his little battle.

RIP little Rodders.

Michele

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your message, thats very kind of you to say that I tried my best to help him. Its a sad time for us, thats for sure. I'm sure Demon's and Rodders are getting along fine! We're going to miss them and it's going to hurt for some long time. How is your piggy that you were waiting to hear from the vet about? Hope it was good news ?
Nanas seems ok now, he still prefers to sit where Rodders lay, but he's quite lively, although not eating his pellets, in fact now I think about it neither of them ate the pellets for some days before Rodders became ill. He is eating plenty of Timothy hay, and has greens for breakfast and dinner. I've also bought some Vitaimin C drops, but I'm not going to use them all the time, maybe just a couple of times a week in his drinking water.

Good luck with your little ones .

Sally, did you get my email? I sometimes have problems sending emails through this site.

Hi Lucinda

Yes I did get your email, thank you very much, you guys are all very kind. I had a few problems with MSN and lost the email link for a while, hopefully up and working again now though.

I had to tell Rodders previous owner last night. She moved to Spain and was going to arrange for them to join her next month, but because she has two cats, a dog that the previous renter of her flat left behind (can you believe some people, they need shooting), and I have read on sites such as this brilliant one, that guinea pigs dont like sun, and since they would be living on a balcony, I suggested that Nanas stays with me, and although she loves them , oh I should say him now that Rodders has gone, she has agreed. So I'm a proud guinea pig 'mummy' now!

Hope all ok with you

Sallyb

Aww that's terrible at the previous owner! But people do that these days and worse!

Happy for you that you can keep hold of Nanas!

xx Kelly xx

Glad you can keep Nanas, ;D

He probably wouldn't have liked the journey to Spain anyway :)
