Update on Princess

Hello, all. Princess has been on antibiotics for about 3 weeks now. She is drinking more water and is actually eating a bit from her bowl! She even manages to get a little "squeak" out from time to time. I still feed her with a syringe just to be sure she has something in her system since I cant see what she does while I am at work. She lost some weight but hopefully that will reverse in time. Her droppings are kinda dark though. And even though she drinks water, I see more droppings than urine...should I worry? Hope to hear from somone soon.
 
oh, I also found a probiotic finally! i really wasn't crazy of the idea of giving princess yogurt so i went to research online. there's this cool site, www.thistlecavies.com and its really nice. i purchased some there and all the purchases contribute to the rescue efforts they make for other piggies. they have a cute little shop too! check it out! ;D
 
So glad Princess has now turned a corner and is doing so much better.

Thistle rescue is brillant. They also do the critical care there to which is very good to. Just got my order through from them today. Bought some readigrass, a birthday card and also the rainbow bridge peom too. its good toknow its going to a rescue too.

Thanks for letting us know how shes doing. You are doing a great Job.

thanks, michelle, i am just happy that i got some advice from you guys and was able to do what i can for princess. i should have a scanner soon so i can upload some pics of my piggie!
 
cool, it would be great to get some piccies. If not you can always Pm squeakypig and you can send the photos by post she will then scanner them in.

oh, thats great! i guess if anything i can send the pics then. i have so many i dont know what to do with them! she very photogenic! lol. I even took some of her with my boyfriend. he's very fond of princess. he actually named her. now he wants a piggie for his birthday! i have a feeling princess will begin to start having afternoon strolls with a new friend! :D
 
I am so glad she is doing well now!

It sounds like you are doing all the right things for her so I'm sure she will soon make a full recovery.
 
Ooh, I am so pleased she is improving! Well done for being such a wonderful piggy nurse.

Thistle's is a Lovely rescue - I buy loads of stuff from their shop, it's lovely knowing the money is being used to help piggies in need.

hello to all again. I'm happy to say i went to the vet on saturday and princess is has a clean bill of health. she gained an ounce and a half, shes jumping and running and is pooping and weeing! he have her one more round of meds, just to be sure but i wont have to visit the dr for a looong time! yay!
