Unique Piggy Names Please?

I'm hoping to be rescuing some piggies in the next few weeks (still unsure of whether boars or sows) but I love unique names so need some suggestions please. My boys are called Milan and Hugo. I know Hugo isn't very unique but still I've never met another Hugo guinea pig :)
 
I think 'standard' people names work well, we have two guinea pigs called Nibbles and Pickles which no-one ever comments on, and then we have 'Dave' and everyone always says what a great name for a pig! Its always good to hear my other half out in the garden shouting for Dave to get in his cage so he can be caught and brought back indoors. A friend has a cockateil called 'Kenneth' which also works well.

I would suggest names like Reg, Beryl etc - old-school British names.
 
I've pulled names from a number of sources... when I kept mice, most of them were named after literary rodents (Templeton, Nicodemus, Brown Jenkin, etc.) With my hedgehogs, I theme-named from trees/plants that had thorns with Hawthorne, Bramble, and Thistle (I had chosen Briar for a boy and Primrose for a girl before my hubby told me that he was tired of having hedgehogs!) With the pigs, I would probably have gone with flower names or something else from nature since they are all females, but by then the kids were more involved in naming than me so lost the theme idea and we ended up with Linney (after the guinea pig in WonderPets), Frenzy (from Transformers), and Sundae (because she looked like an ice cream sundae, apparently.) Our youngest guinea pig is Hadley, which my son picked out of the movie Aliens (the name of the colony under attack is Hadley's Hope) so I was thinking we could go with sci fi/horror names, as the kids and I are into that stuff. However, getting the kids to agree on things is sometimes a challenge so time will tell! Is there any book/tv/game series or whatever that you enjoy and could pull names from? Do you like human names for pets? Based in nature? Mythology? There are a lot of good sources out there!
 
Some great names there.

Our first two piggies were called Pitch & Putt after crazy golf

Then our Rescues Cookie & Treacle were already named as was Megan.

Our next two rescues and current girls were namesless so we went for drinks with Vimto and Sarsaparilla. We also have a Widget whom we named and @katanamoon too has a Widget.

Great advice on themes from @Freela Loving the Hadley name from Aliens....
 
I like Nico, Zaid, Eiji and Eryx for boars and Birdie and Isadora for sows but my partner just give me a dirty look when I mentioned those names hahaha

Mines aren't unusual, just sort of happened really!

My first pig was a boar, that i took on unexpectedly after the bin men found him in a wheelie bin and brought him into the vets. I liked human names for piggies so i called him Mikey (Michael when he was naughty!)

I had him neutered and adopted my absinnian girl... She was called Honey but as she was red i didnt think it suited her.. I called her Crunchie because i thought she looks like a Crunchie!

Then i adopted Fudge, and kept her name as i knew the owners. Mikey passed away shortly after, so i was left with Crunchie and Fudge..

I then rescued an all white coronet piggy.. And with my other two pigs names being sweets (the theme happened on its own!) i decided to Call her Mallow!

People comment on Mallows name but i think my other 2 are common :)
 
I like uncommon human kinda names for my piggies, but they just get their nicknames unless they're in trouble!. I have Albie (Albus) and Percy (Percival) at the moment. I've also had a Mikey (Mikhail) and Eddie (who was originally Edwina, but she turned out to be a he, so Edward!)
I also name my cars and currently OH and I have a Theo (Theodore) and an Enzo (Lorenzo). We have had Felix and Scobie previously!

I have a Crunchie too... she and Coco came with their names from family friends.

All my others have 'person' names- currently I have Rodney, Benji, Fred, George, Humphrey, Montgomery (Monty), Trevor, Dorothy (Dotty), Penelope (Penny), Chester, Charlie, Emily (Milly) and Harriet.

Talking to them when I go out to the shed does make sound a bit mad!
 
I tend to go for person names for my pets but have had story characters. I think maybe Huckleberry was unusual but I also liked Silas as a name. I had two bickering sows called Tweedledum and Tweedledee. I currently have two teddies called Padraig and Seamus but I have two texel boars coming on 29.01.16 and the possibilities are endless but due to curly hair I'll probably opt for Wesley and Leroy or Gregory and Levi or Rasmus and Winstan. I've already had a dog called Sheldon or that would've been a definite option. I like Amos, Seth and Ralph too. I need more piggies as I have too many names lined up! Oh and I call them all by their names (stuff the neighbours). :)
 
My two girls are Tuulikki and Tove, named for two Finnish artists. Tove Jansson created the Moomin comics! I also had a hamster named Tinka. But some names I also enjoy are Tinsley, Tuck, Hilda, Apricot, Parsnip, Fig...
 
We have a running theme of Scottish/gaelic names for all of our boys and they are usually picked to reflect their personality or appearance. It causes mega issues at the vets though as people can't pronounce them! I expect @Wiebke has the same issues with her welsh crowd!

I did have Merry & Pippin who were named from Lord of the Rings as I needed an adventurous set of brothers to name them after. In the past I have also had Dill, Nigel as well as Clouseau and Kayto (from the Pink Panther films) as they were always fighting.... How about picking something from literature or films you like?

At the falconry centre we have Dave the eagle (because everyone should have a friend called Dave apparently!) but also have food/drink themed names e.g. Brandy, Scrumpy, Hooch, Guinness, Cider etc. or pair names e.g. Fetch and Carrie or themes like last year's baby hawks who were Ruby & Jade, or the other hawk group: Puddle & Tarn. Tom the kestrel is called after Tom Thumb because he is so tiny, his wife was Thumbelina etc etc....

I often have a short list but usually wait until we've had the new piggy for a day or two before we work out what suits them. We currently have a list of Scottish place/beach names waiting for the next additions :P
