Just in time for the new arrival, Twr Gwich (spoken: toor gweekh) or the Wheeking Tower has reached a habitable stage. We still have to construct a mezzanine floor on the top, but for now, the familiar fleece and huts will help to make the new home "theirs"!

Wow that looks fantastic! I bet that took some putting together. I hope my piggies don't see these photos or they will be demanding a new house! :))

You've made an outside ramp that's such a cool cool idea. Ours is inside and it takes up floor space. HMMMMM thinking cap on.

It's wonderful and how are they finding it?

Wiebke, this is amazing - I love it, and it makes the most incredible home for your wonderful family.

Three of them have just discovered the ramp and all are busy exploring!

I'm just watching Taffy having a little popcorn on the top while I'm writing this! :)):)):))

The outside ramp - make use of leftover grids.

I love the name 'Wheeking Tower'. This is truly magnificent. Your piggies must love their new set up.

WOW this is totally awesome x)x)x)
Oh my the little darling hearts are sooooooo gonna love popcorning and chutting around in their Tower :(|):(|)
Try to teach them not to wee on the end of the ramp like my girls do, makes such a mess of the carpet, we've had to replace the end bit already! rolleyes

The fabric on the ramp is from a washed, very cheap doormat from Tesco's, so it can be changed from time to time without problems. I have been using it for all my ramps, so my piggies associate it with ramps. Marking is a fact of piggy life - like house numbers in humans!

It looks fantastic Wiebke & aren't they're going to provide you with hours of fun :))

Hamish periodically wees near the bottom of his ramp too - i shove a cushion under it & he stops :))

Aww Wiebke it looks great and I'm sure Llewellyn and his girls are all loving it. I love the outside ramp idea and you are very clever with your use of the tesco's mats. Might pick up a few and see what we can come up with!

Beautiful, beautiful setup Wiebke, I love it. You can tell David that he did a sterling job building it!

I love the opening door so they can have a run around the lounge i think they need a moat and a drawbridge aswell as when all the other piggies see this they are going to try and invade!

I think they will defend it with fervour!

good stuff, i gave up on my 2nd floor in the end cause they were buggers for just hiding under it & making it a nightmare when cleaning out although it was wider so harder for me to reach the back, but that does tempt me to build an extension......lol. :D

Did you get the cage from the B&Q in Cov?

Si

It's what we call a C&C cage.

I got two cube storage packs from ebay (about £14 pounds each, 17 grids per pack), correx for the trays from a local sign maker (£15, cut to size) plus plywood for two bases, the ramp system and some bits of wood for the side frames and the middle pillars. In the bottom, we tied two grids together, in the top we used the buttons supplied. We have about 10 grids left over and could build another half floor on top (with using grids as floor for that).

You still have to wiggle a bit to make up the lower floor!

For the technically interested - here's a pic of the side panel that supports the upper story:

That's very technical well done hubby, we just have uprights made from the side of grids that slot into place in the plastic grid holder things. They hold the middle floor up and stop it from wobbling. To remove the bottom tray you just take out the uprights.

Yours is very posh indeed!

My hubby likes his work SOLID! :)):)):))
