As some of you may know from my other thread, my 2 new piggies (6 weeks old) have ringworm...nicely given to me along with them from the breeder.

Anyway, after a diagnosis of mites from the vet, then ringworm, we are now treating them. One of them does look like he's getting worse before better, but I've seen that can happen.

They are normally outside, so I've put them in an indoor cage while I disinfect their hutch. I'm also going to replace their hidey log etc...should I do this now while they are being treated or wait until they are all better? My plan is to clean/replace everything and then put them back into their hutch.

What are your piggies being treated with. When my lot had ringworm i treated there cage/all cage furniture every 3 days along with their ringworm wash. Make sure you use something that is a fungacidal disinfectant. A few to name are F10, Anigene and Virkon. I would treat the hutch now and maybe before you put them back too. Make sure you treat there inside cage too, along with all iglus etc. And wash any beddings (if on fleece etc) at at least 60 degrees and with disinfectant too if you can.

x.

Hi P & S

I've been monitoring ALL your posts and you seem to have a bit of a **** atm.

I will PM you my tel number for a chat about disinfectants, antibotics and everything else to do with ringworm issues.

Thank you, that's really nice of you and I will give you a call. I'm getting a lot of stick to give them back!

Oh heck what a time you are having, I have no advice at all sorry, just wanted to say even though you are having all these problems I hope you are still enjoying your piggies, poor little things, they don't deserve all this do they.

In all honesty, not getting to do much with them as obviously trying to minimise handling. They're getting fed up with the creams now too so that's proving a hard job. Fingers crossed it works quick!

I threw all my wooden items out when I discovered my boys had ringworm. Was a bit miffed about it as I had bought them playsticks and two new wooden houses each!

I went a bit OTT with the disinfecting & cleaning but it soon cleared up. By soon, I mean maybe a month or two. Good luck with everything!

Hi Pebble, just to say I haven't forgotten your lovely offer and I will give you a call tomorrow - we're back to the vets tonight for him to have a look and see how they're going. x
