Toothache 😭😭😭😭

Take all the painkillers that you can safely take (layering if necessary ie ibuprofen and paracetamol) and if you have any arnica tablets, take one to help with your shock and bruising.
I would also try some hand reflexology working in your thumbs. Here is a link to a video on YouTube demonstrating.
Thank you! Will defo try that! X

How are you feeling this morning @artcasper ?
Well I had an early morning call 6.15am from my friend who is due to have a baby soon saying she needed to go to hospital... false alarm sadly!

Bit of general toothache and some pain but nothing the ice pack isn't sorting out and some paracetamol.. thank you for asking xx

I was still getting some pain so made the decision yesterday to evict this trouble causer.... mouth is very sore today whilst it starts to heal...

I am sorry @artcasper I hope you can get your toot fixed very soon.

Oil of Cloves works but nobody has this in the house unless they can remember the war.
We have oil of Cloves, I'm old, but not that old! I've luckily never had to use it but my partner has, apparently it's worth keeping in your first aid box!

20210106_210714.webpdon't know about the wars, but remember the toothache after a root canal, pain so bad, wrap string round tooth and phone box and tried to drive off,it failed as l couldn't drive, lol, hubby rang the dentist about 8pm, and he met us at his surgery and pulled it out. He said the 2 biggest pains are toothache and earache, because the pain gos straight to the brain.

Wowcher! You must have been desperate :mal: (and I bet @artcasper you are soooooo pleased the tooth is out before you read that!)

It sure is a big 'un. I agree with @Bill & Ted it's probably better out than in... I get the sense that you'd always be waiting for it to kick off again.
I had one out last Feb and the pain went pretty fast but it took quite a few months for the gum to heal up properly because I kept catching it with the electric toothbrush and getting things like nuts stuck in the gap

And the daft thing is when the hazelnut you were trying to chew (admittedly sometimes one from the centre of a Ferrero Rocher) suddenly seems to disappear you actually find yourself looking round on the floor thinking, "well I can't have swallowed it..."
I think I need to practise that 'mindful eating' rather than the 'bellyful eating' which I'm proper good at

I am scared to eat as keep hearing stories about things getting stuck lol! Only managed bread and butter, mash, jelly and yoghurt so far! Yes, I was worried if I had the next step done the pain would come back and I really have had enough of that pain... I will be really careful when brushing!

I have to agree with that about them being the worse pain wise! I remember trying that as a child with a piece of string but that was just to get a loose baby tooth out 🤣🤣🤣

Glad you’ve gotten rid of the offending object. I’m not usually squeamish (except when it comes to orthopaedic/any surgery that involves hammers, chisels, drills and nails 😱) but looking at that tooth made my skin want to crawl away!

Hope you heal well and pain is minimal.

Have a cup of salty water at your sink and every time you go near it risen your mouth out with it. Will help it to heal faster ,x

Yes I was told by the dentist to do that... which i did last night and then felt sick 🙈🙈🙈 i think I added too much salt and not enough water.....plus it was warm water and I don't drink anything hot...

I'm truly sorry to hear about the excruciating toothache you experienced back then, artcasper. Dental pain can be incredibly unbearable, and I hope you were able to find the relief you needed at that time. If you ever encounter such a situation again or if you have any dental concerns, it's crucial to reach out to a dentist for professional assistance.
