Never experienced pain like it..... I seriously would rather give birth again.....

Please send help......

Ouch! Poor you! Toothache is terrible. Nothing worse than toothache and backache! Have you taken any pain killers? Hope you can see a dentist quickly. Pain free healing vibes being sent!

Oh no, toothache is so horrible. You should be able to get an emergency appointment with your dentist. Take pain killers until then. ☹️

Sorry to hear that. I also have toothache at the moment, but not as bad as yours sounds. My dentist said they could see me on Jan 11th so I'm hoping mine doesn't get any worse!
Hope you feel better soon

Sorry I didn’t mean to laugh! I’m sorry. Hopefully painkiller will help lessen the pain. Try for an appointment tomorrow. Ring soon as they’re open and exaggerate...not that you have to. Hugs.

I have had to stop the ibuprofen as its upsetting my stomach... had root canal on xmas eve ... it wasn't successful as I was in pain all over Xmas... went to dentist yesterday.... the tooth in question wasn't numbed enough and I felt everything... I was sobbing in the chair and she had to stop...

I am back tomorrow for another try or have it removed 😭😭😭

Oh my word this sounds like torture. You have my utmost sympathy. I am sending you support from afar. Be brave x

It really didn't help my fear of the dentists which stems from being given gas as a child and waking up covered in blood!

My dentist is lovely but I am dreading tomorrow...

Good vibes for tomorrow! I have awful anxiety about the dentist too, I had to have a root canal and a removal done a few years back and I spent both appointments having a full blown panic attack in the chair, kind of felt sorry for the dentist to be honest 🤦‍♀️
Toothache is the worst, I hope you're feeling better soon!

I'm so sorry - when it's bad it's awful.
Warm salt water solution rinsed around or even just held in mouth to reduce infection... unless they've told you not to eg. if you have blood clots from the dental treatments so far that mustn't be disturbed. Don't swallow - it's an emetic so you'll retch.
Do you have any pain-relieving gel (like for mouth ulcers / or bonjela?) or even 'sensitive teeth' toothpaste that could be dabbed round the gum?
Oil of Cloves works but nobody has this in the house unless they can remember the war.

Don't fret if you have to lose the tooth. Check with the dentist how long the root canal will prolong the life of that tooth for - sometimes the prognosis is better than others. I saw a lady once who had root-canalled her hubs (she was an actual dentist - not a just plucky amateur!) but said he only got another 4 years on his tooth rather than the 10+ he was hoping for, but if he was her age he might not even have been 30 when he had it done so you can see why he wanted to keep it. Weigh it up against how old you are, how many teeth you have left, and how visible that gap will be!

Ooh! ☹️ Hopefully they cover you properly tomorrow. Can they give you something stronger to make sure you can’t feel anything? The injections don’t work for my sister so she has something stronger. Even though it makes her sick afterwards.

I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow. All the best and let’s hope this time they can get the job done. You’re brave for going back after that experience.

I am sorry @artcasper I hope you can get your toot fixed very soon.

We have oil of Cloves, I'm old, but not that old! I've luckily never had to use it but my partner has, apparently it's worth keeping in your first aid box!

Hope all goes well today, there is nothing as worse as really bad tooth pain, I’m with you on that one x

Thank you everyone!

When I arrived at the dentists, the dental nurse was at reception and asked how I had been... I said I was traumatised for the rest of the day and she said she was too and just wanted to give me a hug!

I was brave and said to my dentist that I was willing to try one more time but if I felt anything then she had to stop and I wanted the tooth taking out........

Turns out the anaesthetic sometimes won't work if the nerve/root bit is infected ...

Today.... I didn't feel a thing and she managed to get to the root etc... I did bleed quite a lot it seems but that was stopped.

I am hoping for a pain free few days now! If I get any more trouble then it is definitely coming out!

Yay! I’m glad it worked this time. Here’s to no pain for a good while. Well done on feeling the fear and doing it anyway 😀

So glad your toothy has been sorted out. Hope you have a pain free New Year.xx

Take all the painkillers that you can safely take (layering if necessary ie ibuprofen and paracetamol) and if you have any arnica tablets, take one to help with your shock and bruising.
I would also try some hand reflexology working in your thumbs. Here is a link to a video on YouTube demonstrating.
