Time to let go

So sorry for your loss.
You allowed her a good ending, at peace in her own home surrounded by your love.
Be gentle with yourself now, as you grieve.
Holding you in my heart ♥️

I am sorry to hear this. What a wonderful life you gave her.
She passed in your arms surrounded by love, that's so special.

I think the hardest parts about today was seeing pumpkins reactions to her best friend. I did put the little teddy in her cage for a while straight after I took her to be cremated. I came back and she was all nuzzled up with it, grooming it.

Handing her off in an amazon box to get cremated was awful. Absolutely awful. The one receptionist we spoke to had no idea we were bringing her and made us repeat the reason why a few times as we gently said it. It was her walking off that set me off knowing i cant give her cuddles anymore.

The way she went this morning, i saw her waddling. Swaying even. she had lost most control over movement poor thing. She wandered to my hands and i think sniffed them. Walked all the way back to her hidey and struggled to get back under it. I picked her up, she made a sad little sound i then put her on the bath mat as she had some loose stool late last night. i was holding her. She toppled over to one side and I put her back on her feet where she fell over again and was gone about 10 seconds later. She waited for me. Thats the closure I need. Last night she licked my bottom lip once just before she tried to go onto my shoulder. I didnt let her, her poop was sickly I didn’t want to be covered in poop. I placed her little head on my shoulder whilst covering her lower half. I truly believe she wouldve gone last night if I didnt put her back in the cage. My baby waited for me.

I am so sorry, I do think she sprained for you this morning. Take heart she died in your arms, surrounded by love

Popcorn high little lady 🌈

She just passed away in my arms. Almost like she waited for me all night. baby girl.

BIG HUGS

It is always nicer when they can pass away at home in their familiar surroundings. I've been there myself with my old lady Cerian on Friday.

Be kind with yourself and give yourself time to rest and to grieve. While you can do some of the grieving homework in th run up with looking after terminally ill piggy, the actual pain of the loss never gets any less since every bond is unique.

Thank you. I am giving myself time to rest after a couple of bad nights and I am limiting my attendance on here to what I can cope with. I still have got 19 other piggies to keep up with so there is never a dull moment...

It is always a relief when the companions are eating and drinking because that gives you time to look after yourself and to think about where you want to go from there.

Companions usually know much better what is going on since they have a much finer sense of smell; and they have time to say goodbye beforehand. It is usually the sudden, expected deaths from a stroke, a heart attack or a traumatic event that can relly throw them.

We can help you work out what to do with your companion if would like any practical andvice and moral support in the soming days.

Thank you. I think I will definitely need advice on what to do as she is sick herself (not as bad as pebbles was). I don’t feel ready to give her up to someone nor do I feel like I can bond her with another pig.
